Here's a bit of GOOD NEWS. Yesterday on a construction job, two different workers sidled over to my husband and said, "Where did you get the McCain/Palin sticker? I want one." Today he took several with him to hand out, and I'm off to the Republican headquarters to get several more.
Another bright spot in my corner of the world is that this election has turned my sister into a conservative activist, nay a maniac. For the past couple of months she has been in a frenzy doing opp research on Obama and sending it to every person she is acquainted with.
Surely there are other bright spots out there to give us hope that an Obama Presidency isn't inevitable and that we should all curl up into a fetal position and suck our thumbs! We conservatives are made of stronger stuff than that.

Crude Oil’s fallen 4% so far today and a new Mason Dixon Poll out today has McCain up 3 in VA.

Deer season opens Saturday. And because Oregon has vote-by-mail, I can spend election day in the woods.

I'm hearing more and more people openly admit Obama scares the holy bajeezus out of them. Also hearing more people getting familiar with ACORN and the dems blocking reforms on Fannie and Freddie over the years.

It’s finally cooling off some (out of the 90’s) and looks like fall will be around the corner.
And there was one Obama sign in my neighborhood - vs. about 6 or 7 McCain/Palin signs.
I also anticipate an exciting VP debate tonight.

We have talk radio, FR, and the internet to combat the MSM, that is, obama’s campaign team. They want to shut us down, but they haven’t shut us down.

Fact is, we’re all going to be either really happy or real depressed tomorrow morning. Palin has a lot riding on her tonight.

Campaign offices around the Country cannot keep a supply of McCain/Palin yard signs in stock. One County in FL has just ordered 20,000 more and other counties in FL are going to have to do the same as they have run out.
In a large Florida city they have the most volunteers ever for phone banks and more satelitte offices then during Bush-Cheney. People are volunteering for phone banks in record numbers to make calls for McCain/Palin.
In Oklahoma, our county is ordering 10,000 more signs as they went through 5,000 and another 5,000 since the Convention. States asked counties to order so they can get them direct and faster. Have talked to people from a lot of states within the last few days that have run out of signs and their GOP is ordering more.
Backorder for bumpstrips for individuals — what normally would take 4-5 days is taking a couple of weeks.
Most of us that have been involved with Presidential politics have never seen anything like it. Since the Convention, the enthusiasm is growing around the Country with number of people at events, etc. in spit of the media and polls which anyone around politics knows are junk!

Conan O'Brien did a bit on his show last night discussing the same sentiment. "Bad news all over the headlines, I searched through all of the newspapers, everything's depressing, etc... But I did find ONE piece of good news: Today (Oct 1) is Randy Quaid's 58th birthday!" Then they went on to do a whole goofy bit, singing Happy Birthday to Randy, bringing out a b-day cake, doing a fake interview with him, etc.
So there's that. ;-)
