For you students who have been fans of the Simpsons since way back in your Pogs days, you know it goes without saying that Homer Simpson screws up… a lot.
But for once, in this clip, Homer’s blunder is not his fault at all. He did the right thing, he voted for Obama! Alas, the machine wouldn’t let him… instead it changes his vote to McCain every time.
It’d be funny if it didn’t seem eerily plausible. (And just plain eerie, seriously, listen to the opening music.)
As Simpson says, “This doesn’t happen in America, maybe Ohio, but not in America!” Also, maybe Florida, but who's counting?
One can only imagine that this clip comes as a sneak preview to the annual Halloween special, because damn, it’s scary.
Actually, if you watch the video clip Homer states “I want to vote for president, governor or anything that takes away money from our parks and library.” Homer wants to vote for Obama. Tells me that Homer knows that under Obama administration tax dollars will be sent to Obama’s friends and cronies.

They can’t be expected to understand the complexities of this election. McCain was one of the few Republicans that the Democrats truly liked, but now that he’s running against Obama, he is Satan Incarnate (or, with the way they openly despise Christians now, maybe they see him as the Second Coming?). He’s basically campaigning as a lamb, but they act like he’s campaigning as a far right lion.

If it were South Park, Kyle would be an Obama supporter, Stan would be a McCain supporter, and Cartman would be trying to get some of the billions from the bailout. He’d enlist Kenny who’d get killed trying to break through Obama’s black power stooges. Cartman would burst in on Obama and McCain divvying up a bunch of cash in a back room.

My wife agrees with you (as I do). She’s disappointed because we used to love the show. We have a DVD collection of Seasons 3-7, back when it was funny and irreverent instead of preachy and intolerant.
The Simpsons collapsed like most comedy shows because the writers from these shows are largely newly minted ivy-league grads.
These grads are huge kool-aid drinkers and are doctrinally liberal.
I had to deal with these retards all the time in school. Fortunately most of the shows these idiots write for get cancelled but lots of times they sneak their way into established shows.
Wow, I feel old now. I remember when it was “$1.25 cheap!”
