Sarah Palin and the Experience Factor
American Thinker ^ | 10-2-08 | J.R. Dunn

In the 2008 election, one of these ruling myths is "Sarah Palin does not have the experience to be vice-president." Well, let's stomp that one flat right away: out of all four candidates, Sarah Palin is the only one with any of the requisite executive experience required for office. She is the sole candidate who has ever run anything larger than a college debating society. If she is not qualified, none of them are, and we'd better dump ‘em all and start over.

She has the know how. It may not be on a national scale yet but she's plenty smart and will quickly learn. The senators have none of her experience.

Mayors and Governors don’t get to vote “present.” EVER!

For many years I have found that hiring a so called “experienced” truck driver often gives me a person so ingrained to not being flexible to learn or listen to advice to handle a unique situation such as driving concrete mixers a fleet of which I manage.

Basically I would rather have a smart hardworking flexible person that an older stuck in a groove person that won’t get his hands dirty because for most of his life his background was being a steering wheel holder.

Sarah Palin can turn the wheel, load the rig, fix the engine, wash the rig and if needed drive in in conditions that would scare most people, that said because she is Alaska tough.

Oh, but they forgot the “One’s” year and a half of campaign experience. What a joke!

Go Sarah!! Wipe the floor with Biden tonight!!! Show them what you’re made of! Can’t wait.

It should be pointed out that knowledge and experience can be acquired.

Common sense is something native to an individual and is not dispensed with university degrees.

Sarah Palin should be judged on whether her experience as a governor shows she is capable of learning and whether she exhibited common sense and good judgment.

I would give her an “A” on both.

Washington DC is overflowing with Harvard, Yale and Columbia alumni whose common sense is suspect, to say the least.

Sarah Palin like Ronald Reagan would stand out above the crowd.

Sarah will do great. She will resonate with the voters whoknow what it is like to walk into a employers office to have them stare down at you with their haughty glasses, as they sit behind their royal desk...the voters know what it is liked to meet with a person who thinks they are so much more intelligent than you they have to put you down to raise themsleves up (Katie), these are the same workers who humbly take it and sometimes from two employers who never get it, that if it were not for these “small, unintelligent people” you could not run a business!

And one more thing...these are the people who also go home after a long day, kiss their kids goodnight, have a cold one in their hands, sit on the couch and thank God they are not like THEM!

McCain had command of a Naval Air unit; that is a level of responsibility that few CEOs can match.

Big difference in the pay, though!

folks

EXPERIENCE IS A NOT ISSUE

we can’t win on that,,

WHO IS THE FIGHTER?

FIGHTER IS THE WINNING ISSUE.

WHO IS GOING TO FIGHT ?

WHO IS GOING TO SHOW UP TO DO THE JOB?

FIGHTER VS “present” (aka reporting for duty)

This is what Obama is, a steering wheel holder. They might be able to drive but after that they get lost.

The principles are the same. In fact, it’s much, much, more difficult to go from running a large organization to running a small one. Additionally, she’s not running for POTUS and, as well, she’ll have time to acclimate herself.

She’ll do great.

Don’t forget, she can do her own PM’s, stay in compliance with HOS, and scale her axles properly, too! Rog-O?

Yeah, she can be our “git ‘er done” Veep.

LOL!

Palin has roughly the same experience as Teddy Roosevelt and Harry Truman.

How many Governors, as opposed to Legislators, have been elected President? Anybody know?

“(Johnson, Bush, Sr., and Truman all served as VPs before entering the Oval Office.)”

Bush wasn’t a senior or a Senator.

That would take some research, but I seem to remember reading somewhere that governors and veterans tend to be elected more often than legislators. No such choice this time, of course, other than Gov. Palin.
