Florida Republican leaders hastily convened a top secret meeting this week to grapple with Sen. John McCain's sagging performance in this must-win state.
Their fears were confirmed Wednesday when four new polls showed Sen. Barack Obama leading, a reversal from just a few weeks ago when McCain was opening up an advantage....
One of the concerns has been the relationship between grass roots volunteers across the state and far fewer paid campaign staffers. Complaints range from not getting yard signs quickly enough to knowing who will speak at events and overall manpower coordination....
McCain supporter and former Republican Party of Florida chairman Tom Slade said he's been hearing rumblings over the past few weeks that the campaign is not fully utilizing volunteers, though he said that was not the case in Jacksonville.
"I get the sense that on the statewide basis, the grass roots Republicans don't quite feel like they have a natural fit within the McCain organization," Slade said....

I know! We need to be strong and fight, but McCain needs to hit hard in his next debate and stop with “both parties” and “reform” and “I will be bipartisan”..I mean, I know he can’t help it, but he really needs to stop that soft talk.
We can win this, it’s still FIVE weeks left. LET’S ROLL!!
Put up that yard sign, talk to neighbors who are undecided, volunteer to make some calls or knock on doors.
My point remains that conservatism is in and of itself compassionate.
I must say that God is still on His throne and still answers prayer. There are many Believers on this website and we must bombard His throne with our petitions DAILY. We must still Believe that God’s power is greater than this demonic power that controls the obama campaign. And God can Still send confusion into the enemy’s camp. TRUTH is STILL greater than DECEPTION. Barak is a liar and a deceiver. He and his worshippers slander Palin, a child of the Most High God. I believe God will vindicate her. Vengence is mine saith THE LORD! I encourage you fellow Believers to trust God. Stand by, and watch the Salvation of our redemptive GOD!
Here is the come back ask -— How is an associate with David Duke, different from an associate of Rev Wright?
One might consider the source of the article. St. Pete Slimes.
This morning on that Brian and the Judge show on Fox Radio, they were saying that Crist and McCain have a strained relationship because of something that McCain did to Crist. I don’t know what they’re talking about.
I think Karl is a swell guy too.
We are talking about Karl Rove, aren't we?
Another trick question, you did so good with the first.
How is an associate of David Duke, different from an associate of Rev Wright?
GOOD!! They would be a horrible waste on You!!1 Some good Citizens will get those Lawn signs and bumper stickers and dont commit hari Hare on Nov. 5th when YOU ARE THE LOOSER!
GOD BLESS JOHN McCAIN AND OUR AMERICA!
Geeze dude, put down the koolaid.
Actually, I bought a jug of KoolAid for you, thought it might brighten your day!:-)
Cheers! Hic Cup!:-)
At the last local republican executive committee meeting, they told us not to pick up signs for our neighbors because they wanted them to come in an get them themselves so they could sign them up for phone banks, precinct walks, absentee ballots, etc. My neighbor has two small kids and works from home. She is not likely to want to stop by the GOP office, but she would love to put a sign in her yard....
I agree with you completely. My point was that those that claim to be compassionate conservatives are seldom conservative.
We are in violent agreement!
PINELLAS COUNTY: Call #539-6009 on TUESDAY to see if more yard signs have arrived. Seriesly. I’m not seeing any Obama stuff around here but am seeing McCain signs.
i was pleased to count at least ten of the cool “another family for mccain” yard signs here in maitland today—and one obama sign.
the local mccain team had a roadside voter registration booth set up the other day—not a lot of people stopped, but the honks and waves (thumbs up, not middle fingers) were overwhelmingly supportive.
we’re hearing a lot of negativity in the media re:polls, etc.
as always, consider the source.
Thanks. The place keeps me going. Also, started to volunteer
for McPalin.
