LOS ANGELES - Melissa Etheridge will wed girlfriend Tammy Lynn Michaels, the singer told celebrity television show Extra ahead of Californias vote next month on whether to strip same-sex couples of the right to marry.
Yes, we have four children and were trying to find the right time, Etheridge said when asked about marriage in an interview set to air on Wednesday night.
A spokeswoman for Etheridge was not immediately available.
Back in May, the California Supreme Court granted same-sex couples the right to marry, but residents opposing the decision have organized a proposition calling for an amendment to the states constitution that would ban gay marriage.
Voters will cast their ballots in Novembers election on whether or not to support the proposition.
Etheridge, 47, whose rock hits include Come to My Window and Im the Only One, has for years been one of the most high-profile celebrities to live openly as a lesbian.
She has two children with her former partner Julie Cypher, and in 2006, Etheridge and Michaels had their own twins.
Michaels, 33, is an actress who appeared in the lesbian-themed cable TV show The L Word.

Certainly much more newsworthy than Obama’s background and legislative record.

More useless data:
David Crosby is the father of oneof the children, via donation, of course.

More and more, it seems likely that this election will mark the decisive victory of the anti-values of the 1960s over American traditions. The great likelihood now is that Barack Obama's inauguration will signal not only the end of national pride/patriotism but also the demise of marriage and family. What is saddest is that most of our People-reading, MTV-viewing populace will not even notice.

Is there anyone in Hollywood who isnt gay? Lots of them. But I think many of the heterosexuals there feel a need to at least try it first before they commit.
