Items belonging to Steve Fossett, an aviator who's been missing for over a year, have been found by a California couple in the woods.

The couple was hiking in Mammoth Lakes, California, when they found FAA ID cards belonging to Steve Fossett - and police are saying the cards are not forged.

A search of the area has not turned up any further evidence of the pilot.

Steve Fossett, the commodities trader turned record-breaking aviator, was declared legally dead in February of this years, five months after he vanished while flying in Nevada.

I just have no idea. It’s strange these people found a few personal items but no signs of wreckage.

Perhaps dental or DNA to confirm it was him, but the body is probably spread out over an acre of property by now in little pieces of bone.

Most pilots keep their license and medical certificates in their wallets. There is no mention of a wallet. This raises lots of questions. Hopefully the wonderful news media will expand this story.

“”Is an FAA Card kinda like a driver’s license?””

There isn’t an FAA ID card - it might be his pilot’s license or more accurately “certificate.” He would also have carried a medical certificate issued by an FAA Flight Surgeon. If these documents were intact, there should also be other documents such as the aircraft’s airworthiness certificate, aeronautical charts, sectional maps, IFR (instrument flight rules)charts not to mention a flight bag that would hold some of these papers. The first would be in the airplane’s glove box but it doesn’t sound as tho’ any wreckage has been found. Strange.

I don’t remember there being any communication after he took off and I don’t believe he was supposed to be flying in the direction of Mammoth Lakes. Perhaps there’ll be more on this soon.

It’s evident what happened. The Bernoulli Principle is really fourth level black magic. It only works if you truly believe in it, or if you carry a levitation talisman. Fossett probably dropped his FAA card out the window. When his ju-ju rubbed off, he crashed into Mammoth Lake.

That’s why the FAA mandates a minimum 12% of all passengers on commercial flights must be siddhi gurus. They can keep the plane aloft if the mass hypnosis snaps. Look it up.

That is one reason, yes. So far there’s nothing to indicate that he did though it’s a possibility.

Somewhat more seriously though, is it possible that he was going to attempt to splash the plane and dropped a few things out the window before he reached the lake to leave a little crumb trail, so to speak?
