“”Is an FAA Card kinda like a driver’s license?””

There isn’t an FAA ID card - it might be his pilot’s license or more accurately “certificate.” He would also have carried a medical certificate issued by an FAA Flight Surgeon. If these documents were intact, there should also be other documents such as the aircraft’s airworthiness certificate, aeronautical charts, sectional maps, IFR (instrument flight rules)charts not to mention a flight bag that would hold some of these papers. The first would be in the airplane’s glove box but it doesn’t sound as tho’ any wreckage has been found. Strange.

Thank you for the info. Yes, it’s strange. I wonder if it would be possible that someone else found the wreckage, rummaged thru it and these were things they just tossed aside? I never put anything past people, guess I’m somewhat cynical.
