Obamas Assault on the First Amendment Stifling political debate with threats of prosecution is not the rule of law its tyranny.
By Andrew C. McCarthy
In London last week, a frightful warning was sounded about encroaching tyranny. At an important conference, speaker after impassioned speaker warned of the peril to Western values posed by freedom-devouring sharia the Islamic legal code. Like all tyrannies, sharias first target is speech: Suppress all examination of Muslim radicalism by threats of prosecution and libel actions, and smugly call it the rule of law.
But we may already be further gone than the London conferees feared. And without resort to the Islamicization that so startled them. For that, we can thank the campaign of Barack Obama.
Ill be blunt: Sen. Obama and his supporters despise free expression, the bedrock of American self-determinism and hence American democracy. Whats more, like garden-variety despots, they see law not as a means of ensuring liberty but as a tool to intimidate and quell dissent.

I’ve taken up the cause of Obama’s detest of the Bill of Rights on my blog - for more info, have a look.
Shameless plug I know, but how else do you get the word around?!?

If the Obamanation gets elected, I have no doubt that we will quickly become a socialist police-state.
Not quickly. Not without a real war.
This is as big a fight as the Bailout. Other than the ‘Burnin’ Down the House’ Video, our best hope for aggressive ads about Ayers and Raines will come from 527s, but not if BO’s goons keep conspiring with ‘lawful’ stumbling blocks to free speech.
it strikes me odd that Obama and his ilk in the (not so) Great Britain both know the chorus line.....
peculiar,,,, way too peculiar
His assault on the First Amendment will go hand-in-hand with his assault on the Second Amendment.
PRINT THIS OUT, EMAIL IT, PASS IT OUT - this story needs to get out.
I won't hold my breath waiting for such criminal investigations. But I hope that rural and suburban Missouri voters are watching their "public servants" carefully.
