WASHINGTON (AP) Has Sarah Palin become a liability for John McCain? Since joining his ticket, the overnight political celebrity has seen the shine come off her poll standings and doubts surface among some conservatives once excited about her candidacy.
The Alaska governor still draws huge crowds and energizes McCain's drive for the White House. Yet a whirlwind month after he made her his running mate, Palin is starting to seem very, very vulnerable.
A stumbling interview with CBS's Katie Couric last week in which Palin equated her state's proximity to Russia with foreign policy experience may have been her defining moment so far. Now, attention is shifting to her debate Thursday with Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden.
So far, Palin's been a huge hit with conservative and Republican voters, and McCain's frequent campaign-trail companion; but also a candidate largely sheltered from reporters whose few interviews have prompted some Republicans to react defensively and at times with frustration.

"She answers questions like a beauty queen," said Obama backer Dawna Attig, 45, of Barre, Vt. "She's an insult to hard-working, intelligent women."

Former GOP congressman Joe Scarborough, now a host on MSNBC television, said Palin "just seems to be out of her league" on national issues. Rich Lowry, editor of the conservative National Review magazine, called her performance "dreadful" and warned that without improvement, "she risks damaging her political brand forevermore." And conservative columnist Kathleen Parker said Palin should drop out to save "McCain, her party and the country she loves."

True dat.
She's the Director of the Derby giving her own son the winner's trophy. The kid is going to grow up a complete wuss!
Fantasy. Nothing more.
Kinda hoping she gets through the campaign without too much of a McTaint.
She is no newby. She fully understands the media. As such I think she knew that the best parts of her interviews would end up on the cutting room floor. Whether by accident or by design the MSM has been set up. We can all pray that she is able to finish them off.
Still not a McCain fan, but I would delight to hear that President McCain had called a press conference and... disinvited exactly 100% of the known Presstitutes. (Those who hold opposing positions honorably should be invited. Just keep the bottom-feeding scum out.)
Roaring On The Floor Lauging My Ass Off!
I don’t have cable, I choose to get my news from FR.
McCain would have a snowballs chance in hell without Sarah.
That is all.
Well her stupid comment that got national coverage was her 15 minutes of fame. We'll never hear of her again. She can spend the rest of her life dusting the trophy.
One hour of this place set me straight from 10 years of that cable news craps, Fox news included. Thank God for outlets like FR and Rush Limbaugh.
I'm in! Go Sarah!!
Thank you for letting me know who Kathleen Parker is.
I have had liberal after liberal throw the SNL skits about Sarah Palin (the incompetent one) at me for two weeks - and have a sibling who was wavering on their vote but is now saying they will vote for Obama because Palin is “a danger to this country because she is so clueless”.
I know - and he sees no danger in Obamessiah with his Obama Youth Camps, his Obama Truth Thug squads (despite their claims of never planning to use their LEO positions to intimidate people in Missouri who are telling “lies” about the Obamanation)...or about his ties to the people who got us into this mess over at FM and FM, or his ties to the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers or the corrupt Rezko.
I gave up trying to convince the liberals any differently.
Now, I just look at them and smile. I even laugh at the SNL skits.
Drives them crazee.
You libs are scared sh*tless, aren’t you? 99% of you give the other 1% a bad name.
“said Obama backer Dawna Attig, 45, of Barre, Vt. “She’s an insult to hard-working, intelligent women.” “
So...which state is “Dawn” governor of?
You understand, you’re my friend.
I salute you.
That is all.
Oh, I bid you well in all things.
Now, that is all, again.
Maybe she works in the quarry. What else is there in Barre?
lol...nope.
