...In Ms Palins favour tomorrow night is a tendency to be underestimated. In 2006 she went through a gruelling 12 televised debates with her opponents in the Alaskan gubernatorial race. Then, as now, she was written off as a neophyte who was out of her depth. Although she made several gaffes, voters were prepared to overlook them because they identified with her personality.
Ms Palin can also continue to draw on a sympathy factor from voters who dislike the often unsupported and sometimes vicious torrent of abuse from the liberal blogsphere about her life.
Likewise, after a brief furore the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation last week ditched an online columnist, Heather Mallick, who wrote about the hillbillies supporting Ms Palin and described her as having the toned-down version of the porn actress look . . . the overtreated hair, puffy lips and permanently alarmed expression.
Such comments play straight into Ms Palins hands. Meanwhile, Alaskas most famous moose hunter has been expertly talking up her opponent and lowering her own expectations in advance of tomorrows encounter.
I have to admit Joe Bidens a great debater, and he looks pretty doggone confident, like hes sure hes going to win, she told a rally on Monday.

My hope is that they get rabid anti Palin about it because that will create a blowback of support for her.
Tomorrow I am sending emails out to the MSM demanding that they don't go soft on Palin.
Also, the NYSlimes editorial and "story" written on the B.O. - McCain "debate" both looked like they were written before the debate even took place!
Katie Vitriolic (if looks could kill) Couric
She could practically bounce around like Woody woodpecker going wooo hooo and I’d still love her.
Gov. Palin gets it! The lame stream media can’t hide or destroy that no matter how hard they try. And like old Abe said ,”you cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong”.
Her opponents, Knowles and Halcro, offered jokes. When it was Palin's turn, she pounced.
Smiling at Halcro, who recited reams of statistics by rote, Palin observed that the businessman "would make the most awesome statistician the state could ever look for."
Palin pivoted to Knowles, who had started his political career as an Anchorage restaurateur. "Do they need a chef down in Juneau?" Palin asked, smiling as she turned the verbal knife. "I know Mr. Knowles is really good at that."
Is it me or does her skirt have stains on it?
’ I told her to get that dry cleaned when we were done. ‘
once upon a time a man in america would never have said something like this in polite company...in the garage with his buddies sure.
it isn’t so much the devaluation of the american dollar that concerns me so much as the devaluation of the american man. sad times.
You wish. LOL
She's a NAZI!
Maybe the MSM is helping Palin by badmouthing her. People with any sense can see through the bias and understand what is going on. Hate and resentment has a dirty smell.
Wrong posture. That's how you raise a hand in class, not how you raise your hand in a NAZI rally.
Okay. She’s a crypto, classist Nazi.
Thank you for the post.
We need to preserve these early stories about Palin before she became famous on the world stage.
Wipe your monitor clean and cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough.
Right on.
