Morris: "McCain is losing the election this minute"
Fox News | 9/30/08

Posted on 09/30/2008 1:33:52 PM PDT by pabianice

Dick Morris on Fox: McCain is bungling the bail-out issue so badly that he has basically lost the election by "a lot; will be 12 points behind Obama next week." McCain "is giving this issue away to Obama" by being ineffective and not pinning it rightfully on Pelosi, ACORN, and the Dems.

Pro-Obama ads are running 3-1 vs. McCain ads. Obama videos/Yoytube are running ten to one against McCain. I can't understand how a brave warrior like McCain can be so blind and go down with no fight. HOW can McCain let the ACORN issue just slide away?

What would be classic is Sarah P to live up to the pitbull image and totally ambush Biden. When she is asked a question give it a cursory 30 second answer and then launch. “Senator Obama has some shaddy connections he needs to answer for Senator Biden and it's shameful an honorable guy like you would agree to be on a ticket with such demonstrably corrupt megalomaniac like Barrak Obama. he represented the same folks who got us in this mess, he took their money, he employed the chief actors in his campaign, shame on you Senator, shame.”

Bill Kristol had this sobering quote in a column earlier this week:

"The core case against Obama is pretty simple: he’s too liberal. A few months ago I asked one of McCain’s aides what aspect of Obama’s liberalism they thought they could most effectively exploit. He looked at me as if I were a simpleton, and patiently explained that talking about “conservatism” and “liberalism” was so old-fashioned."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/29/opinion/29kristol.html

If McCain's people really believe this nonsense, he's doomed.

If McCain won’t fight for capitalism and explain to people that federal law (Community Reinvestment Act et al) MANDATED that the banks loan money to people with no collateral via ACORN and other socialistic groups, then I’m not sure we’re so bad off politically if he loses.

Reagan would never have quit communicating conservative principles to the American people, even if the MSM didn’t like it.

That said, the problem is simple: when McCain lists to the right, his numbers go up and his base is energized. When he swings to the left, his numbers tank and his base gets rather melancholy. And distressed.
So why can't any of the geniuses in his campaign SEE that? Are they all smoking crack? All shooting crank? All passed out from too much tequila and rum?

What the freak is going on in their heads?

Or is the fix in? Maybe there is no election. Maybe a real election was never an option for 2008.

Rudy or Mitt please.

Romney would be 20% due to the fact he owns a Hedge Fund and is deep with Wall Street. The Evangelicals would not vote for him because he is Mormon(Sadly). The reason he lost Fla in the Primaries.

Guliani is a great guy but is Pro Choice. The base would have bailed on him.

“He’s going to muzzle Palin and make her a bipartisan clone.”

Many of us fear exactly that. I can only imagine all these ‘advisors’ prepping her for the debate on Thursday. For some reason, though, I think Palin is a live wire who will be difficult to muzzle. I hope she lets it fly in the debate, and beyond.

So many on these threads want to totally dismiss McCain, so they can be the first to say I told you so. Then, when the news turns, they will be the first to say how was playing chess while Obama was playing checkers, that he was a genius, blah, blah, blah....

This is especially neurotic when you consider the source of the alarm. DICK MORRIS. I mean this guy flip flops so much, he has no credibility whatsoever.

The problem is that, currently, McCain isn’t “battling” at all. He’s wandering around in the delusional world of the Senate where phony collegiality reigns among good friends across the aisle. His babbling about bipartisanship while the GOP is being ripped to shreds is simply incompetent and will lead to defeat.

McCain is continuing with his 'gentlemanly and civil' campaign (we can't even call him Hussein, according to McCain),,,,

while Hussein is playing big-league, Chicago-style HARDBALL,,,,

"lipstick on a pig",,,,

"rotten stinking fish",,,

attacks slamming, smearing and libeling (politics of personal destruction) Gov. Palin and her family,,,

stifling any and all criticism from any and all sources including using government THREATS,,,,

telling his supports to get 'IN YOUR FACE',,,etc.

It's almost like a football game with the Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Marys of the Lake. Unbelievable.

I agree!

What the hell’s wrong with some of you?

With all the electoral chips stacked against him, McCain is within the margin of error (maybe even ahead, given the Wilder efect).

Ever since he duped Obama into going to Iraq and Europe McCain has out foxed him at every turn.

FReepers, buck up!

Trolls, be gone!

Reagan was once in a lifetime. My idol.

I agree, I am pissed off too with McCain.

He will fight, and must have a plan.

I WISH they were on crack or plastered. At least these would be good excuses for their actions. I’m afraid they just don’t believe the conservative route is the way to the White House.

WE MUST APPEASE THE GREAT GOD OF MODERATION AND BIPARTISANSHIP!! Morons, all of them.

Except you’re forgetting one thing. Either Rudy or Mitt would stand up and TELL THE TRUTH about the rats.

That alone would win them the election, in a landslide.

You are so right. They are genuflecting before the God of Bipartisanship. Just like they will have the rest of us (forcibly) genuflecting before the God of Global Warming.
