A political scientist at a Christian college in New York City warns that if Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama loses the election on November 4, race riots could break out in large U.S. cities.
A recent Associated Press-Yahoo News poll suggested Senator Obama's race could cost him up to six percentage points on election night. David Corbin, a politics professor at The King's College, contends there is potential for public riots the night of or after the election, if Obama's lead in the polls does not translate into victory.
"I don't think that's something that we've looked at very closely, and I think that this could be a powder keg here as we get towards that day, given that Senator Obama is an African-American and given that there might be some backlash if he actually loses," Corbin explains.
Corbin notes that seemingly small stories involving O.J. Simpson and Rodney King have brought into play terrible riots in major cities across the U.S. "I think a lot of people are looking to an Obama presidency to affirm the notion that somehow Americans aren't racist and, if for some reason Senator Obama loses, then it's just, 'Oh well, it's said and done. We must be a racist nation,'" Corbin adds.
People who fuel that claim of racism, according to Corbin, do damage to one of Senator Obama's main themes -- moving beyond a red-and-blue, or black-and-white America.
It's the right thing to do.
One thing that the electorate (aka 'taxpayers') knows is that terror will be greatly diminished under an Obama bin Biden administration.
Race will cost nothing next to Alinksy-Marxism stench.
If that happens, I vote for shoot on sight orders and NOT ONE PENNY to rebuild their neighborhoods!

I recall that Sen Edwards’ wife, about a week before they lost the election, said in an interview there would be riots if Bush won, and America would deserve it. There were no riots.

This is a revival of the “long hot summer” threat used in the 60s that unless blacks get xyz there will be riots. It’s blackmail. It’s not like blacks haven’t rioted before.
After the LA riots, what did whites do? Move to Idaho or buy shot guns.
Who would change their vote to prevent a riot?
I thought that the political left is truly a believer in “the survival of the fittest” and “All creatures are created equal. Some are more equal than others.”!
A race riot might be a very foolish thing indeed, at least in the typical places riots happen, like South Central LA. After the Rodney King riot, all patience was lost, both by the police and especially by the Korean community.
In the former case, the police will likely try to arrest all rioters. And if the rioters even enter the Korean community they will be shot.
More likely, riots will be in cities that have not experienced a riot in a long time, like Boston, Indianapolis, Detroit, possibly New York City. Yet even there, I do not expect much tolerance from law enforcement.
And if there are indications or threats of rioting before election day, the police will be very prepared.
If we want to test for riots, we’ll have to vote “early and often” for McCain/Palin to offset the mail-in ballots ACORN has surely stuffed into the “ballot boxes” already. I’m for it, though.

She said the foreclosed houses in Detroit are worth LESS than the land value because you have to tear down the structure that the former “owners” trashed in order to make the land usable.
Bring it on! Between the Mexican street gangs and the heavily-armed Korean shopkeepers, black rioters may find it pretty tough going.
Academicians refuse to admit that race riots are another ESPN innner-city sports event and will occur whether or not Hussein wins the election.....
Race Riots, like hell night in Detroit are just part of the landscape for inner-city dwellers....
Having worked on the west side of Chicago, I know that it’s quite the frightening possibility. Unfortunately, there are many businesses, good nonprofit organizations, private schools and individuals that will be damaged (injured?), and any rioting can and will move into the more affluent areas. Of course, Daley should be on alert for this. We’ll see....
My son lives in Rogers Park. I’ve told him to get his valuables, clothing and cat and spend the week far enough north of Chicago but south enough of Milwaukee.
