hmv

Posted on 09/30/2008 8:11:22 AM PDT by Hillary'sMoralVoid

Per AP, Freddie and Fannie are facing a Grand Jury as a U. S. Attorney's Investigation is underway.

Folks, this is huge! It is now a SCANDAL, the repercussions of which are TEN to TWENTY times the impact of the Enron Scandal!!!

We need to write to the editors of our newspapers and publicize this every way possible. Of course, we need to trace the money path through Dodd, Frank and company, directly to the annoited one.

Get excited, this is great news!

Not sure which one it would be...but I don’t believe one thing will come of this. What has Mueller done the whole time he has been there? Cover for politicians...especially the old Clinton guard. More than likely, every US Attorney in NY are liberal appointees of Clinton or given approval to be appointed(during Bush)..by Hillary and Schumer.

Not holding out much hope here.

"Bush will be blamed and Obama will benefit. This is not good news. It keeps the crisis on the front page and lets Dems/Obama and the DBM to perpetuate the Bush (ergo McCain) blame.

"There should definitely be an investigation, but it should start in earnest AFTER the election.

" Wait a minute. The two previous heads of these agencies BOTH are liberal appointees and BOTH had to resign with Raines being found guilty of impropriety and forced to give up a pile of his pay package. There is ample records of Democrats blocking attempted tightening of the regulation by Republicans and John Mccain who himself proposed regulations to do this tightening which was also procedurally blocked by the Democrats.

The scandals led to the replacement of the companies' top executives. Freddie Mac's former CEO, Gregory Parseghian was ousted in December 2003. Fannie CEO Franklin Raines and chief financial officer Timothy Howard were swept out of office a year later.

Raines is now on Obama's team. Unfortunately, the investigation will begin with 2007 accounting practices. This takes Raines off the hook for now.

Note that the story did not link Raines to Obama. This will be the norm as this investigation plays out.

The problem is that this will never be completed before the elections. Even if the MOFOBO gets this pinned on his @** and the dim party, the DBM will not start reporting this.

I sent these video links

to people who were not sure who to vote for, but they are starting to see the light.

Too many videos on Youtube clearly showing who is to blame here.

And youtube is absolutely decimating the MSM for the hearts and minds of the unwashed masses.

I was very surprised that yesterday’s Hartford Courant had a big story on the front page about Sen Dodd getting contributions from the failed institutions. Very interesting. He has gotten a pass so far but maybe some of this stuff is just too hot for the “news” media to cover up. Still I suspect if Dodd runs again in 2 years, he will win. He will get reelected by the same people who whine and moan about all politicians being crooked.

Re: Post 84.

Absolutely the truth - agreed. But the truth does not seem to matter. It’s perception and appearances that count. Otherwise, how in the world would an empty suit like Obama sit where he is at this point in time?

Perception: Financial crisis under Bush’s watch = blame the GOP, ergo blame McCain. Hate it, but that’s reality.

There’s just no way the DBM is going to throw Obama and his buddies under the bus before the election. Oh, afterward, they’ll wring their hands and commiserate, “Oh, if we had only known, we would have investigated/reported.”

They haven’t got the guts to do that, they would rather play nice and act like it is not happening. Wimps

Fortunately, unlike past elections the influence of the DBM is greatly diminished. Since this will as usual cone down to a few States deciding who wins, my sense is that McCain will flood them with ads simply laying out Obamas connections to bad guys, the liberals part in the FNMA and FMAC debacle, his voting record, his glaring inconsistencies and his really stunning lack of experience.

In the end there will not be enough morons in the inner cities to carry this lightweight.

McCain by 6

I like your optimism, but I’m not so sure.

This election has very strange dynamics with race and gender each playing a large role.

During the Democrat primary, pollsters repeatedly got it wrong, sometimes VERY wrong because people were telling them they were voting for Obama, but instead they voted for Hillary. Pollsters found excuses for why they got it wrong - like Hillary crying in NH swinging the vote dramatically. I don’t buy that. I think people were telling pollsters they were voting for Obama because they wanted to appear they weren’t racist.

I think a lot of people are uncomfortable with Obama and his past and present connections. He has his worshippers, to be sure, but it’s the old mile wide, but one inch deep support, IMO.

This is a really hard election to get a beat on.
