A lot.....and I mean a lot....of people from liberal northern states, such as New York, have moved to North Carolina in recent years.
Unfortunately, they brought their liberal voting patterns with them. This is why North Carolina is somewhat closer than it used to be, election-wise. I still expect McCain and Dole to win there.
The problem is, in states with early vote...30% of the votes will be banked before election day. As long as this financial mess keeps going then the Obama people are going to have a field day scaring people to go early vote.
My campus is littered with signs telling people where to get a ride. “Not registered...no problem! register and vote at the same time.” It makes me sick
Any battleground state where Obama is not leading by more than 5 points means that Obama is going to lose it on elections day. That is a fact.

I’m in Columbus. Yesterday was the 4th day in a row that Dems were pounding on my door campaigning for their candidates. (I disinfected the door after they left.)
In each case, they had my name and address from the Board of Elections on a hard copy print-out or on a Blackberry. And two of them asked me very nosy questions about my neighbors’ politics. Of course, I refused to answer. (Those two canvassers were working on behalf of organized labor.) It’s rather disturbing when a total stranger arrives on your doorstep and knows your name and wants to know your and your neighbors’ politics.
Anyway, the point of the story is that there has yet to be any GOP canvassers at my door. This was also the case in 2004, and Kerry won the once Republican stronghold of Franklin County.
I just hope that the McCain/Palin campaign is not relying on the incompetent Ohio Republican Party — which is still controlled by the liberal Bob Taft faction and which sabotaged Ken Blackwell’s gubernatorial campaign — to organize neighborhood canvassing efforts or any other significant campaign activity.
Just as depressing as I thought. I e-mailed to McCain and expressed my concern for this problem in Ohio. I got no reply.

The Dems are doing a full-court press to get people to vote right now in the middle of the financial mess.
But the Dems aren’t being pushed in these Obama Regional Field Offices. Just the Messiah. Oh, others may have a bit of campaign material on a small table, But otherwise, it’s all about obama.

95% of Rush Limbaugh predictions fall under master of the obvious category but because they are obvious they are correct as well. In this obvious prediction that the other poster mentioned Limbaugh is right.
Nope. The GOTV effort with the GOP is dismal at best. Early voting always favorites Dems and it will in a big way this time. The 18-24 block is beyond psyched to cast a vote for this socialist. The GOP is doing the old wait and stand by for everyone to come around on election day.
They have to legitimize Obama winning when he pulls out a victory through cheating.
I do not know at this point. There are polls and left wing spin out there trying to shape an election. But the vast majority of Americans were against this bailout, so you’d think that in reality they’d be more fed up the democrats and obama. They were behind this bill, the gop helped to kill it. Yet the media is spinning it like the gop house members are evil. And the national polls show a surge for obama. so God only knows what the reality of the situation is. One thing I’m certain of. We need conservative turnout in Ohio to be more intense than 2004. In 2004 Rove and the get out the vote effort found every vote possible in Ohio. I don’t sense that same intensity by team McCain. And with one month plus to go, they’d better start to get their act together of we’re screwed.
I was watching the news. The people in Ohio are split about even on who they think is better on the economy and dealing with this crisis.
He can if they cheat in the cities by getting people to vote several times under different names.
It's the fraud vote that worries me. Just like in Florida 2000, when an election is close, the fraud vote could matter. It is a miracle the FL 2000 recounts didn't find a Gore victory, at which point the recounts would have stopped.
