The entire Arizona contingent voted ‘no’. I’d be interested to know why the liberal Dims made that choice. They must all be worried about re-election.

"They must all be worried about re-election"

That's what Rush said. Dems are terrified about re-election.

Someone said it was to embarrass Sen. McCain, but I don't think that explanation holds water, considering Sen. McCain wasn't fond of the plan originally anyway.

If this monster comes up for a vote again, I would expect the Republicans to vote no. Every one of them to vote NO!!

Let the Democrats carry the water this time. Screw bipartisanship - the Dems want to blaim the Pubs for all the economic woe in the country right now. Let them take the responsibility for appearing to fix it.

Looks like I’ll vote against Blount in Missouri at the first chance I get. I even sent him several letters.

Shelia Jackson-Lee voted no. Hmmmm.

Whatcha wanna bet the next bill that gets offered up has all the ACORN pork back into it...and that it passes. I know her vote would shift.

I was coming here to ask something like that. I’ve heard that there were Dems not supporting this thing and that made me suspicious. Why did ‘they’ vote against it? I thought about it being an election year. But it always seems like there has to be phone campaigns and email campaigns and a LOT of fuss before something like this happens. This was almost too fast.

Can someone explain it to me? Or am I just too accustomed to long drawn out battles to try to get something bad stopped? Or should I care, so long as it’s not passed?

Conyers also voted against. Pete Sessions (R-TX) voted for. Odd.

Good ol’ Joe Barton (R-TX), my rep, voted No, though. That’s all I care about.

If that happens, and the Republicans do nothing about it, then there might very well be a lot of ordinary people making a lot of noise.

It could be that they are hoping to get a porked-up version offered up and force it through without Republican support.

That factor would doubtless explain half the Democrat N's. Kicking it down the road to get that back in it.
