Oh really? When do I get my check?
This entire "earning the taxpayer money" scheme is a facade. Unless the money is distributed to the taxpayers, and only the taxpayers, it is nothing but paper earnings. It's nothing until the cash is in the taxpayer's hand.
Did George Washington or Lincoln have all the luck?
That’s nonsense. We’re buying real estae assets.
Before Bush choked on the pretzel (January 13, 2002) he seemed destined to be a great President. After that, it appears as if his brain was replaced by a brain of a Democrat. All the really crazy stuff from Harriet Miers to the greatest expansion of the welfare state since FDR seems to have followed the pretzel incident.
You do know that Lincoln was excoriated and btw, assassinated.
I’m not old enough to remember George Washington.
When the Tower in NY was bombed in 1993, my son was living in NY. The Media and Bubba treated it as "No big deal"...only a few died and ONLY 800 were injured. And Bubba even gave up on going after Bin Laden when he could have been delivered on a platter.
Did Security for the US get UPPED at the time. Never heard about an extra dime being spent here in NY. And Daschle's wife even lobbied against "upping airplane security.
Sometimes you MUST take a stand and Bush did it...Be grateful..Thank God he is President.
Last night the Dems had a disgustingly self-congratulatory presser, taking credit for the bailout.
This thing is all teed up for McCain!!
Not good. another horrible week ahead....the 2nd of many I fear.
Somebody somewhere needs to inject some real hope here...
For a moment, let’s assume we make a profit from this.
Any profit the government makes today in the free enterprise sector will lead to bad decisions tomorrow. There will be greater longterm waste in spending. AND, there will be a temptation to make even riskier, larger tax funded ‘investments’ in the future. AND, crony capitalism will grow like never before.
Washington had some Good Luck...His name was Rochambeau.
All the money in the US Treasury belongs to the pols.
Thankfully there is money to be spent on infrastructure.
Would you prefer that all the money in the treasury be returned to the individual taxpayers.
Let’s be rational.
The name doesn’t ring a bell. Are you talking about the bullet holes in his coat? I agree that God spared him. But as President, Washington had a lot of bad luck. In the long run, that added to his name.
I think they give presidents lobotomies when get to office - they seem to forget who brung em to the dance.
A horrible week ahead? I think truth is going to break out this week. FRegards ....
I assure you I thank God that Bush is our president.
We have come to embrace mob rule these days. Everybody’s against this I’ll be against this too.
Critical thinking has disappeared.
I recall the kneejerk reaction to the Dubai Ports Deal.
That entity enforces strict security on their workers. Now we have a mob run system at our ports. So the demagogues went into overdrive and we lost a chance to make our ports safer.
We are turning into mind numbed robots.
No doubt these comments will infuriate some here.
In yesterday's sermon, our pastor referenced Hurricane Andrew when it hit south Miami years ago...
..they lived very close to the destruction...their windows were blown out & survived a very terrifying night/day...
..He lived close to the staging area where helicopters flew in with emergency supplies...and they would fly in early in the mornings afterward...
..he would awaken and think..'was this just a dream'....
..hear the helicopters and tears would fall as the realization hit.....this is not a dream
...FOLKS....this is not a dream....it's a nightmare of reality!
Thank you.
Someone on the thread said he “hates” W - the man who saved us from more 9-11 style attacks.
Shame.
