You do know that the Chrysler so called bailout, which was loan guarantees, earned the taxpayer many many millions of dollars.

Oh really? When do I get my check?

This entire "earning the taxpayer money" scheme is a facade. Unless the money is distributed to the taxpayers, and only the taxpayers, it is nothing but paper earnings. It's nothing until the cash is in the taxpayer's hand.

For a moment, let’s assume we make a profit from this.

Any profit the government makes today in the free enterprise sector will lead to bad decisions tomorrow. There will be greater longterm waste in spending. AND, there will be a temptation to make even riskier, larger tax funded ‘investments’ in the future. AND, crony capitalism will grow like never before.

All the money in the US Treasury belongs to the pols.

Thankfully there is money to be spent on infrastructure.

Would you prefer that all the money in the treasury be returned to the individual taxpayers.

Let’s be rational.

Yeah, the Taxpayers know that once the Gov gets it’s grubby hands on your $$s, it is GONE, GONE, GONE.
We would be better off if the $$ was just flushed down the toilet.
