Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at halftime during Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa.
The NFL and NBC made the announcement Sunday night.

Funny thing is, I can’t imagine what Grunter Springsteen would sing - most of his crap is whiny. Dancing in the Dark? Born to Run?

What I don’t get is the amount of attention paid to the Super Bowl halftime show. Between that and the ads it’s as if everyone forgets the point of the event: to play football.

The game being in Florida, I would have thought Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band would have been a no-brainer, and a lot more popular choice across the board.
I imagine Bruce’ll keep the politics out of it, though. Those Super Bowl halftimes are way too tightly-paced for ranting.

As always, the second NBC football goes to the halftime show I turn the channel. EVERYBODY I know does the same thing. Nothing will change this Super Bowl.

I really think that every music concert should be interrupted by an NFL game. I have no idea why they allow the trashy music industry to garbage up the field at halftime with those gaudy and time consuming spectacles with thousands of participants.
And besides, isn’t Springstein that jackass who hid in Canada during the Vietnam War? What a jerk!
