First Ammendment, anyone?

By the way, why are libel and slander illegal? I mean, what am I harming when I slander Obama? His reputation? Obama’s reputation is not his property. What gives him claim on ideas in other people’s heads? (That’s my libertarian rant for the day.)

Since when do libertarians not believe in libel and slander laws? Have things changed that much since I left the LP 6 years ago?

Libel and slander are lies told with malicious intent. You do believe that one has a right to protection from those who would do one harm, don’t you?
