There are a lot of very bad ways to exit from this mortal plane and cancer, and this form of brain cancer in particular is not very pretty.

Several years ago I worked for a pharmaceutical that developed a treatment for Glioblastoma multiforme but it was in no way a cure and only offered a postponement of the inevitable.

Granted, I don’t like Senator Kennedy on a personal level or for anything he stands for personally or politically, but I really wouldn’t wish this sort of thing on anyone (even on my worst enemy) and I’m sorry to see so many comments having to be removed. I would think we could hold ourselves to a better standard and above the sort of stuff that goes on at DU and not have to put our poor Admin Mods to work so hard to remove the most obnoxious posts.

Some people might see this as some sort of cosmic or moral and religious justice but then again, I got to meet some patients with this same disease who certainly did nothing to deserve it. Cancer really doesn’t seem to discriminate between the “good” or the “bad” people.

I’ve lost some relatives and some good friends to various forms of cancer and I don’t think it was a “judgment” on any of them.

For the sake of his children and his loved ones, when his final time comes, I hope it comes quickly and painlessly.

If I wished anything less for him, then what could I reasonably expect to be wished for by anyone else for me?

Well that’s a good thing but this may happen more often and with cancer nothing is minor. I really do pray that he has time to have long conversations with God.

The only reason I was using it is because it had a lot of ads on it, and I was testing adware blocking. I will NOT use it again. DrudgeReport works well enough for what I need! ;-)

Nothing is gained. That’s what I reflect on. What do we gain by showing that vicious a hatred for Ted? I loath what he has stood for, and things that he has done in his life. That’s fair game, but to wish him hell or God’s wrath upon him? We all walk down that isle sooner than we want to, and none of us is pure as the driven snow.

************************************************************
You are right, no one is pure, but I have never murdered anyone and then try to cover it up. This is why the conservative movement will never get anywhere, we let the LEFT have a pass on everything and they are busy playing “gotcha” with us at every turn.

Dear LORD, I pray that Senator Kennedy understands where his future would be with Jesus as his Redeemer, or where his future will be if he chooses to reject Jesus’ amazing gift of salvation. And I pray for you to comfort and lift up his family during this long good-bye. In your precious name, Amen.

Some of us know some "events" in Ted Kennedy's life that others don't. You can't help but know folks who'e had encounters, run-ins, or whathave you here in DC ~ and just stuff the name of whatever politician or news leader in there.

When this came up and they first took him away with a seizure I was reminded of some dozen "events" that suggested this wasn't just a recent thing.

His oldest sister Mary (I believe was her name) was in her early twenties and did some things best described as "acting out". Old Joe Kennedy and his wife Rose had the girl lobotomized. She lived on many decades as an invalid in an institution.

Teddy "acted out" exactly once, in college, and his brothers hustled him off to the Army ~ most likely to save him from Old Joe's doctors.

There were other, later events, but enough to show a pattern.

Most likely he shouldn't have been given a driver's license, but he was, and that had its own problems.

Even his supposed drinking and drunken behavior in public looked more like what so many folks with brain tumors encounter ~ .

No, wouldn't want that ~ no brain tumors ~ no sceleric inflamation ~ no epilepsy ~ no shunts ~ no....... and yet so many of the folks I've known who went through dealing with this same situation faced up to it bravely and trundled on, and so it is with Ted Kennedy. Can't fault him at all. His nieces and nephews should be proud of him, and to the degree this is hereditary, they should prepare their lives to carry on to the end as well as he did.

Over 60 comments removed in less than 200 posts. Is this any kind of record?

I don’t find fault with anyone who wants to go there whenever they like to see what the other side is doing. That being said, I realized you were going there because you were testing and it was a good model to use. That’s what I would do.

I can see it now, vote for obama to honor the late....

When venal Boston Congressman Joe Moakley died the dozen or so contenders on the Democratic primary all prefaced any comment or the answer to any question with the phrase, "If Joe Moakly were here, he'd say..." It was the Carthago delenda est of that primary.

Again, I agree with you. Sooner or later we will all be taking our dirt nap. Despising his actions and philosophy is one thing, gloating on suffering is another. “Weak-sauce” as my son would say.

When a person is doing something that is wrong, we should confront them and put an end to it. We both fully support that.

What we shouldn’t do is try to stick it to them when they are down.

I understand where you are coming from. We both despise what Ted has conducted himself like, but we must be able to extend mercy when it is appropriate. Otherwise we have allowed the left to change us to something we shouldn’t have allowed them to.
