Yaelle, you are evidently a dem troll. You have numerous negative posts against McCain.

You could argue that Obama’s style might have come across better. But Obama was the one who talked forever and didn’t say anything of substance. The moderator would ask a foreign policy question, and Obama drifted back to some economic issue. It was obvious Obama was lost in foreign policy. He could recite what his handlers had told him. But there was no deep knowledge or thinking there.

McCain was clear and to the point. Came across as sincere, and knowledgeable. I think he missed some opportunities early on the economy. But I think he was holding back since the financial rescue bill is still not approved.

I have a different theory than these pundits that argue that if Obama didn’t blow it he won. It’s obvious the American people want John McCain to win, otherwise, Obama would be up 20+ in the polls. As far as I’m concerned, McCain was the one who simply had to show up and not screw up in order to win. Obama is an empty suit. I don’t care how many DUers come on here and try to convince us otherwise. McCain’s experience, knowledge and commitment to cut wasteful spending and reform government are qualities that Obama simply can’t measure up to. These are critical times that can’t be trusted to an empty suit.

I'm still very worried...

Do not worry Jeremiah Wright is coming back and he is the one who will finish Obama once and for all :)

By the way, McCain won this debate, there is no doubt about it.

When he says something I agree with I have to rethink my position.

LOL Exactly!

Here’s a piece of info that’s just as important as these polls.

I’ve seen a lot less Obama bumperstickers in 2008 than I did Kerry/Edwards stickers in 2004. I live in Northern Virginia, a liberal stronghold.

I don’t know what any of it means-but I do know my observation carries about the same level of scientific accuracy as these internet polls.

Obama’s my father is from Kenya line was very weak compared to John McCain’s ending remarks.

YES! That was very strange coming from Obama. The father he hardly knew anyway, and who left the US to go back to Kenya (and his many wives).

McCain defintely had the better finish, and I'm SO glad McCain had the last word.

Exactly! Obambi made the case himself for McCain's manifest superiority of qualifications. The American people will agree. There is no dispute as to which person is better qualified to be President!

I know a democrat who belonged to a union in Detroit who’s voting McCain. He didn’t even vote for Reagan!

Interesting watching Matthews on MSNBC.

All he can say positively about Obama is ‘that he stayed above the anecdotal’ and he ‘looked cool’.

It is VERY clear that Matthews knows his man LOST!

I agree TIO, McCain has a lifetime of experience and it was evident by the stories and memories of events he discussed throughout the debate. Not to mention discussion of his plans for taxes, handling of foreign matters, etc. McCain is grounded in his knowledge, Obama is a rookie. It seems so foolish that a 1 term senator who has spent most of his term campaigning is even standing on the same stage as McCain.

This was truly a “major yawner” of a debate. I was hoping for a major TKO by McCain against Obama on a number of issues, but it never happened even once! As one example, McCain could of explained the differences between himself and Obama on what to truly do about the bailout, and it never happened. McCain could of truly boosted himself on this economic issue, and it truly was a missed opportunity by McCain to clean Obama’s clock about what to do about the bailout plan. McCain could of also explained about how it was more the fault of Democrats than Republicans that the present economy is truly in the present situation that it’s in. I thought that the overall debate ended in a draw, but this draw truly ends up hurting McCain more than helps McCain. This truly won’t be a debate to be remembered for years to come, and no “political bump” will truly come out of this one debate for either McCain or Obama.
