I think it was pretty much even-steven. These moderated debates don’t do anything. That’s why McCain wants the town hall setting. This debate sounded so canned, I couldn’t finish it. Blah Blah Blah. Soundbite soundbite soundbite.

The voters that will decide this election don't vote on style. They vote on ideas and who they connect with. Obama probably did fine to some. I think he does not connect with average American working voters. he has never had their support in this election, and I don't think he earned it tonight. He looked like an ignorant buffoon to anyone that knows and understands our last 40 years of history. That is not all swing voters, but it is a good portion.

McCain actually exceeded my expectations, showing more connection with good common sense anti-spending, anti-Washington and foreign policy knowledge that will be popular with many of these voters. He also did two key things in this debate that have not been discussed. First, he batted down the Bush ties early on and that went nowhere. Second, he showed that at 72, he's a pretty sharp cookie. He had a solid answers almost every time and command of the facts.

Many say this election is a referendum on Obama and I largely agree, but it is also a referendum on McCain's ability to do the job at 72. Tonight, he probably earned some support from people that otherwise have been concerned on that issue.

Anyone listening? Fox News just had the first non-Internet poll results(phone in) on TV and McCain is winning 89%.

That you think he won on "style" is a comment on your deficiencies as an analyst of anything.

He did win on style. He sucked on substance, of course -- but he sounded great doing it. I think most folks will go with that, and not worry about the substance.

Life is cruel. Deal with it!

Good advice, FRiend. You might try to follow it.

Did you catch him call him Tom tonight. Senator John McCain did not even rate a John from Obama who can look into Imanutjobs eyes and see his soul.

I’ve wondered from time to time if FNC isn’t the “Manchurian Network” - they pretend to be “fair and balanced” (yet the moonbats call us “far right wing”). They do this for about three and a half years every four. THEN, for half a year, the REAL FNC comes out, cheerleading for the Dems.

Not a bad sneaky strategy if there’s anything to that. (Bamboozle a bunch of us into thinking they’re on “our” side, even tho they are clearly just another MSM lefty outlet at heart, just waiting for the chance to make a dent in yet another election).

Just a bit of grassy knoll conspiracy rambling here..

If 0Bama had farted, then puked all over the microphone during an abortion question,
the shills would've still said 0Bama won.

Did you consider maybe he cannot easily turn his head very far because of his POW injuries? That is a possible reason.

Just what we need, an Obama supporter calling McCain an elitist.

Don’t be worried about that Luntz focus group. What Luntz was saying wasn’t indicative of the show of hands by the group or the silly reaction graphs. Also, these were not Nevada voters - they were people on gambling junkets that Luntz dredged up at the casinos. They probably just lost a couple hundy at the slots and wanted someone to “care” about them.

Every Fred Luntz group had Kerry winning the debates in ‘04.

Why are they so sheepish about saying what’s so clear to all of us? McCain WON!

I don't get it either. I had to change it when the stupid Luntz group came on. I put on "The Bodyguard" on VH1, which I think it one of the dumbest movies ever, just to get away from it.

Obama’s my father is from Kenya line was very weak compared to John McCain’s ending remarks.

And don't even get me started on Mort. His hatred for Sarah Palin is out of control.

Yep, I do think McCain may have been saving some of his ammo for then. Especially because by that point this “bailout” plan may be said and done. I’m pretty sure McCain has a LOT of ammo against Obama from just yesterday (when the Dems had Obama lead their part of the meeting and it dissolved into a shouting match). It’s frustrating to us because we’re all political junkies, and we’re not the ones on stage with the cameras, lights and stress to deal with (not to mention McCain has actually been WORKING this week compared to Obama: “There a lot of work to still be done, but I’m going to leave now... Y’all Call me if you need me”) ;) LOL

WTF? Intrade had McCain at 47.8 right after the debate. It is now down to 42.0. I just don’t get it!

Someone is pumping money into it, that's all that means.
