The Brilliance of McCain's Move
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Friday, September 26, 2008 | Dick Morris

Posted on 09/26/2008 1:55:20 PM PDT by TSchmereL

Dick Morris is predicting that the Democrats will pass the Republican version of the bailout, which most will view more favorably, and McCain "comes out of the process as the hero who made it happen." Dick Morris says "This bold move by McCain is about to work. Big time." I know, I know. It's Dick Morris. But I hope he is right.

Is FR extra slow lately?

Exactly and to my point he can say the exact same thing about the ECONOMY.... Obama’s “call me” left the tax payers footing a trillion dollar bail out. McCains ACTION has brought a more conservative taxpayer friendly approach to this mess which McCain foresaw....

Pop the Corn Pop the Corn the debate tonight will be priceless

Just a while ago . . .

Republican Whip Roy Blunt, the Republicans' lead negotiator:

I think we need to be together on this and work together on this, but it means more than take it or leave it. We have been down the take it or leave it road, and you know, until John McCain came back to Washington this week, the House Republicans were very much on the leave it side of it and we were arguing for more insurance or loans and protections, but everyone else is rushing for a deal and frankly John McCain came back and said, the House Republicans have the taxpayers in mind and I am with them.

Congressman John Shadegg:

For the first time since the potential crisis confronting our nation’s banking system arose, I am cautiously optimistic. The proposal initially offered by Secretary Paulson was irresponsible and woefully lacking in safeguards for American taxpayers. Thanks to intervention by Senator McCain, both the White House and Congressional Democrats appear to be moving toward a more responsible rescue plan.

Sorry to say but she’s my senator. sigh. I never voted for her or for her sister - wicked - both of ‘em.

Even when we made plans for a capitol tour in DC (2x) we refused to go through their offices for tickets. Went through a former senator out of New Hampshire (can’t recall the name) then Coleman out of MN the last time.

They want to get home and start campaigning.

This is a real problem for the democrats ....especially since opinions are so low already I wonder what the latest opinion poll is going to land them?

They are very weak right now I think.....and the news of the White House meeting is getting out......If McCain does well tonight the Dimrats are going to be in "High Dungeon" mode.....panic will ensue.....

Grab your popcorn the show is just beginning.......

I think that if Barry tries to manipulate McCain Mac will take him apart and put him back together in the wrong configuration.

Yes, this is what I hope will happen. Obama will attack McCain time and time again for being on the side of the President, and suddenly McCain will interject something on the lines:

“This is funny coming from Senator Obama. As late as yesterday, during the WH meeting it was Senator Obama who supported the bailout plan proposed by the WH which will once again put all the burden on the tax-payers, whereas I supported the counter-plan proposed by the Republican party in the House; a plan which will force the players in WS to shoulder a large part of the responsibility to clear up the present financial mess.”

And Obama’s only response will be: “We are debating foreign policy now, I don’t want to talk about the economy.”

Game, set....

That message wouldn’t be understood by the indoctrinated, partially educated college students that are being rustled up in the Dem’s “get out the vote” campaign.

“McCain will probably stay on topic however Obie will try and change the subject to the economy every chance he gets”.

...that would be a good thing! I wish (and so does the rest of the country)they’d skip the forign policy and talk economy. McCain will kill him! Actually, no matter what the topic, I believe McCain will trounce the pathetic excuse for a human being...BO.

McCain blew it. Last night Newt said no-way there’s a debate tonight and you could see in Newt’s eyes what he was really saying is ‘he’d better not cave and debate.’ Like going to the prom before the dress showed up.

I could only stomach a few minutes of watching her frozen face basically blame McCain for disrupting her proceedings before I turned off the tv. I am counting on John to readjust my attitude during the debates. I am still fuming.

We have to weather this until McCain wins Nov. 4. It’s not going to be easy.

wow, you said it. I have felt the same way. It is darkness that can’t be done by human endeavors but prayer ( Mark 9:29).

BTW, on the blog ClimateAudit, Steve McIntyre put up a post on the “US financial crisis”. He really wanted to focus attention on the problem of making decisions in a crisis situation, with limited amount of information available. However, in his blog post he described Chris Dodd in relatively favourable words.

Now more than 120 responses later the whole story of Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac has been repeated over and over again, and the Democrats have been fried over slowly burning coal.

Yes, I guess most of the AGW sceptics are conservatives, but the fact that so many appears to be “au fait” with the true history of this financial crisis is really heartening.
