The Brilliance of McCain's Move
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Friday, September 26, 2008 | Dick Morris

Posted on 09/26/2008 1:55:20 PM PDT by TSchmereL

Dick Morris is predicting that the Democrats will pass the Republican version of the bailout, which most will view more favorably, and McCain "comes out of the process as the hero who made it happen." Dick Morris says "This bold move by McCain is about to work. Big time." I know, I know. It's Dick Morris. But I hope he is right.

Obama and the democrats are now tied irrevocably to the unpopular Bush/Paulsen plan. McCain will come out great in this...if he sticks to his guns.
McCain has to do more than just stick to his guns.
He has to make the very argument you have himself.
He must come out and tie 0bama to the $700 Billion Bush Bailout.
And he must offer a sensible alternative to it.

McCain can end the debate with defeatist Obama in one minute:

Senator Obama, since you came to the Senate in 2004 you voted against every bill to found our brave troops in the battlefield. Senator Obama, you have voted against the surge. Senator Obama you have voted against VICTORY. Senator Obama you have voted for defeat and surrender. Senator Obama if we have followed your defeatist plan Al Qaeda terrorists and Iran would have controlled Iraq and all the Middle East and have caused us and the world more devastating terrorist attacks than those of of 9/11. Senator Obama we have won the war in Iraq despite defeatists like you. Senator Obama the only reason we can withdraw our troops now from Iraq is because we have won and that is in spite of your defeatist actions. Senator Obama you must not be the Commander in Chief of our brave troops. Senator Obama no person who voted against funding our troops in the field and against victory should be the Commander in Chief of the greatest military in history of mankind.

I hope McCain does take the House GOP plan to the people. How in the heck else will we get mass exposure unless the debate with what 90 million watching . . . we know MSM won’t cover it.

The Dems are over a barrel here.

They have to pass something. Their proposal is opposed by 80% of the public.

They want to get home and start campaigning.

If the pull the temple down, they'll suppress turnout and that will help the GOP.

Summary: McCain's brilliant maneuver has the Dems stymied.

LOL its too funny because. McCain is not backing THE BUSH plan but OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS ARE.

This needs to be McCain's refrain.

It would be great if McCain says something like: “I find it incredibly ironic that my opponent who says I am Bush is on the President’s side while I am opposed to that plan.”

McCain should then add “it seems that Democrats vote with Bush 100%”

I think he’ll be given an “inner ear” set of earplugs, invisible to the public. In addition, he’ll have his vocal chords electronically hooked up to David Axelrod’s transmitter....the last thing the Obama campaign wants is Stuttering Barry going off on a tangent.

Don’t you see the beauty of all this?

1. Obama was against the war in Iraq and has used that to justify his judgement on foreign policy.

2. Obama was against the surge in Iraq and it has been used to show how flawed his judgement is on foreign policy.

McCain wins Foreign Policy.

1. McCain was sponsoring laws that would have stopped the financial mess that we are currently in he will use that to justify his judgement on the Economy.

2. McCain was against the Taxpayer Bailout plan sponsored by BUSH and supported a more Conservative plan that will get adopted.

McCain wins on the Economy.

LOVE IT. Of course this will take a couple days to sink in.

Obama: “Jim, that’s not the question you’re supposed to ask” as he waves a sheet of paper in the air. “Here’s the list of questions PBS faxed to me last week.”

Fine.....then the market goes to hell starting with the sunday ( our time) Asian markets......

The Dimrats are not going to get the kind of ass covering they think they are...we're play hard ball Democrat style right now...... I think people will decide tonight which candidate they are going to vote for after this first debate.

I don't know how any October surprise can eclipse this .....and I bet McCain and Company has a video buy just ready to remind everyone who O'bombers friends and supporters are and how they are knee deep in this sh!t.

By doing the debate tonight without a deal like he said, gives the impression that McCain’s word is no good. And the media is running with it right now.
I have seen 3 reports with that angle in the last hour.
Big mistake!!!

I’ve been out of the house most of the day and picked up Rush for a few minutes on my way to the Mall. What I want to know WAS McCain fooled into going over to DC? Sounds like he fell into their trap. The Republicans are being BLACKOUT by the mediapukes as well! All I keep hearing are reports from the newsPUKES that the REPUBLICANS screwed up and McCain is to blame. While I was standing in line to purchase my item I heard the clerk tell the lady in front of me saying that the pubs were to be blame for all the chaos with the banks. I asked her where she got her info from and she told me from this morning on tube while she was getting ready for work. This is only a small sample of working folk who get their news from the mediaPUKES. GOD HELP US. FOLKS there is a tsunami of darkness covering on our country that CAN NOT be stop by human strength, WE NEED JESUS TO INTERVENE IN OUR BEHALF! Please take time RIGHT NOW and get on your knees and seek God to help us. WE NEED HIM MORE THAN EVER!!!! May the Lord intervene and confuse Ozero tonight. PRAY FOLKS , please PRAY!!

Morris may not be the best analyst when it comes to polls and the mood of the country, but his analysis about what happens on the Hill and how events will play out there is usually pretty spot on.

The Democrats are between a rock and a hard place... if they sign on to the Bush plan without the GOP they will inexorably tie themselves to Bush this election cycle at their own peril. GOP candidates will be able to run on a platform of “Dems opposed drilling and they wanted to use your tax money to bail out the fat cats on Wall Street. They will destroy the economy” That my friends is a winning strategy and could result in the House swinging back to the Republicans.

The Democrats can’t sign on to the Bush bill... that’s why the bill still has yet to go through... they need the cover of the GOP (whom they will pin the blame on if things go south). Hell, even labor unions are opposing the bail out. They have no choice but to sign the GOP bill or be portrayed once again as a “do-nothing Congress.”

McCain played the like a fiddle...

Yancy
