From Team McCain....
To Interested Parties:
To address our current financial crisis, John McCain suspended his campaign and returned to Washington, D.C., today to help build a bipartisan consensus for a proposal that would protect the American taxpayer.
Despite today's news reports, there never existed a "deal," but merely a proposal offered by a small, select group of Members of Congress. As of right now, there exists only a series of principles, including greater oversight and measures to address CEO pay. However, these principles do not enjoy a consensus in Congress.
At today's cabinet meeting, John McCain did not attack any proposal or endorse any plan. John McCain simply urged that for any proposal to enjoy the confidence of the American people, stressing that all sides would have to cooperate and build a bipartisan consensus for a solution that protects taxpayers.
However, the Democrats allowed Senator Obama to run their side of the meeting. That did not work as the meeting quickly devolved into a contentious shouting match that did not seek to craft a bipartisan solution.
At this moment, the plan that has been put forth by the Administration does not enjoy the confidence of the American people as it will not protect that taxpayers and will sacrifice Main Street in favor of Wall Street.
The bottom line is that as of tonight, there are not enough Republican or Democrat votes for the current plan. However, we are still optimistic that a bipartisan solution will be found. Republicans and Democrats want a deal that will protect the taxpayers.
Tomorrow, John McCain will return to Capitol Hill where he will work with all sides to build a bipartisan solution that protects taxpayers and keeps Americans in their homes.
THE POSTER SAYS HE IS IN THE MEDIA AND IS ON A MEDIA LIST WITH THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN

Pelosi looked like a statute in a wax museum...Reid was totally deflated and Mcain looked like a cat playing with a mouse.
As much as I don’t like obama I really doubt he was screaming during the meeting.
How does a "shouting match" translate into "Obama shouting"?
So much for CHANGE by Obama, it just goes to show McCain will bring the real CHANGE to the table.
That was a joke right?
Yeah. Now “whining” I would believe. Pontificating emptily? Sure! Screaming? Not so much.
John McCain doesn’t understand simply “consensus.” He also understands “power.”
It was power he applied in the Gang of 14 to stop filibustering of judicial appointments.
While conservatives wanted the nuclear option, and they had heartburn with McCain over the Gang, they have to admit that it made possible the appointment of Roberts and Alito.
As much as I dont like obama I really doubt he was screaming during the meeting.
I’m not so sure about that. There was video of him yelling at a senior citizen and another time being rude to an audience member when he couldn’t remember his speech.
Well, according to CNN Headline News the meeting was
CONTENCIOUS
Got a laugh out of that spelling from the always brilliant never in error CNN
The real problem for Obama is that McCain has taken their campaign back to the SENATE.
Both are Senators. The only difference is that Obama had about 143 days of experience before he departed on his magical mystery tour to the presidency. He has no idea how the Senate works, and he personally is not a powerful presence in any aspect of the Senate.
McCain, on the other hand, knows the ropes as few do.
The dems put Obama front and center because they are afraid his lack of influence in the Senate will be exposed. The longer this goes on, the more likely it will be revealed that Emperor Obama has no clothes.
ROFL! You nailed it!!
Yeah, but just imaagine if Hillary was the nominee instead of obama. Everyone in the room would have needed earplugs, the waterford crystal would have had to be removed, and the lamps bolted to the tables.
You know, I could've gone all day w/o that mental image.
It was revealed when he didn't come to Washington on his own - he KNOWS he's got nothing to bring to the table.
You forgot about the ashtrays.
Did he need to suspend his campaign to do that?
