In 2004, the Bidens reported that they had $234,271 in adjusted gross income and made contributions of $380. In the same year, Kinsman Redeemer brought home $380 and paid $234,271 in TAXES!

Q: How does Obama manage to not generate a single penny of interest or dividend income?
A: Cash in unmarked envelopes.

No one forgets to list their charitable contributions in their annual tax return.I could buy either listing everything or not listing anything at all. If you want the deduction, then you want to maximize it by listing everything. If someone is giving altruistically and feels that claiming a deduction somehow cheapens that motivation, then you would list no deductions.

McCain’s numbers are something like 22% or more. Has Palin released her numbers yet?

Hey, give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they wanted to give more, but they just can't handle economics very well.

It's not what you give to the poor that matters, it is what you do for them. What better way is there than to gain control of millions of other people's pockets through the Presidency and donate their money to the poor of your choice?
Patriots Clinton and Gore followed this route, too. Like BHO and Biden, they were rather parsimonious in their direct contributions before they achieved fame. But, look how generous Clinton was in pushing the Community Reinvestment Act and appointing people like Johnson, Raines, and Gorelick to Fannie Mae to work on the public's behalf.

You can’t become a millionare on a Senators salary. Where did these to get all the millions they have? Obama is supposedly worth about $5 million. Biden lives in a $2 million dollar house. A Senators salary is about $160,000.

Credit to the Michael Medved show for the following (the guest was one of his rabbi friends):
Charity is a moral transaction. The giver gives out of the compassion in his heart for his fellow man. He benefits by the knowledge that he has helped someone and through the gratitude of the man he helped. The receiver of the charity appreciates his benefactor and reaps the moral rewards of a grateful heart.
Government programs change this transaction by removing the morality. The giver is no longer acting out of compassion but compulsion at the point of a gun. Rather than lightening his heart, his spirit is heavy and resentful. The receiver is no longer receiving the love of his fellow man but a payment from government to which he doesn’t feel grateful but entitled.
This is paraphrased from my memory... but sounds about right.

Check out the Pew Report on Political Typology. The dividend income statistic jumped out at me because this is a BIG difference between the liberals and “enterprisers” in their study.
