No one forgets to list their charitable contributions in their annual tax return.

I could buy either listing everything or not listing anything at all. If you want the deduction, then you want to maximize it by listing everything. If someone is giving altruistically and feels that claiming a deduction somehow cheapens that motivation, then you would list no deductions.
