True, however, that does not answer the question concerning her position on Illegal Immigration and therefore her suitability to be POTUS.

She probably did, however, all Republicans, even RINOs like McCain are against Illegal Immigration.

It is Amnesty that we are concerned with and the rewarding people who break the law and steal tax-payer provided benefits that conservatives are concerned about and this needs to be answered by Palin.

We definitely want a governor [as McCain's vice-presidential nominee], but slim pickings, though, in the governors. And I'm telling you, the Alaskan governor, Palin. So, back to the Veepstakes. Sarah Palin: I like her. She's a beautiful woman, but she's also a conservative. Her husband, he's a fisherman. I agree... That’s why I’ll keep searching. IIRC it stated she was ANTI-Amnesty. But, until I find what I read - I’m not going to assume.

She is doing an excellent job as a VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE. She is not running for President. Were she running for President she would need to state her platform. Because she is running for Vice President, she is expected to support her Presidential candidate partner...which she does amply and well. It isn’t necessary for her to give her opinions should they differ from McCain’s. When she runs for President, then these stupid media types can pester her. They are the ones who are ignorant on protocol.

I would hope she wouldn't be McCain's lackey, but instead support the Constitution, and if McCain pushes for Amnesty; she should speak out against it.

It has been said that at one time she was sporting a Buchanan campaign pin. Buchanan’s position on immigration has been firm for a long time. It as one of his leading issues, I believe his premier issue.

If it is true that she was wearing his campaign pin, and thinking here to be a Conservative I wouldn’t be surprised, I would think she probably understands the issue and would come down on the right side.

As others have mentioned, she is McCain’s V.P. pick. She will be cognizant of his agenda and try not to conflict with it openly IMO.

You need to understand that a lot of people would never vote for McCain because of his stance on immigration and so they want to make sure Palin is on the right side of the issue so they can feel okay voting for the ticket. I, on the other hand, don’t particularly care for her position because it won’t change what McCain does an iota.

The vice-president is assigned only one responsibility by the Constitution, and that is in the legislative branch, not the executive branch. The vice-president is designated as the presiding officer of the Senate of the United States and has the additional responsibility of casting a tie-breaking vote whenever the votes of the senators are evenly divided on any roll call.

But that’s what some of us have been saying.

Her views are subservient to the views of the Presidential Candidate. She could be solid as a rock on views that differ from McCain, but unless she wants to submarine the viability of the ticket, her views have to take a back seat.

The time for hashing out belief systems was during the primary. Folks really screwed up, but they picked McCain and we’re stuck with his agenda.

No problem, and I definitely will. I’ll also put a call out to the “Palin Pingers” in tonight’s newswire issue, and hopefully with a few of us scouring the web we can find something. :-)

I’m assuming that Palin will be smarter than Biden, and not speak of things she and McCain disagree about - at least not during the election. HOWEVER, it would be reassuring to know that once elected she understands the issue and would most likely be on “our side”.

As for me personally — I’ve made my peace with voting for McCain (it took a LOT to bring me around). I understand if others are not able to though... If you had told me a year ago I would be trying to help him get elected I would’ve said you were crazy.
