AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, Doctor of Democracy, and Chief of the Patriotism Police. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).
Just heard on my local radio midmorning talkshow about the new leader of Pakistan having a crush on Gov. Palin.
(Does this photo make my ears look small?)
Yes, but now you walk like the character in “Swing Blade”
This thread moves very fast. I normally just lurk, but I do like to read it.
If we must bail them out with 700 billion, I propose the following:
Purchase $700 billion in newly issued preferred stock at the current prices.
Deposit the stock with and assign dividends to the Social Security trust fund with guarantees that it will remain there.
What do you think of this idea?
I hope Rush has the audio direct from Clinton’s joint while “The One” is speaking so it includes the audience applause and put to rest he was ‘waiting for the applause’ myth the media has come up with.
I listen to WMAL 24/7.
Agreed, sloop
THIS IS URGENT- We MUST CALL OUR CONGRESSCRITTERS ASAP!!
Per RedState siren post:
Harry Reid (D-NV) thinking the public and Senate are both distracted by the Paulson plan to bailout Wall Street intends to continue the ban on oil shale drilling.
He is doing it right now.
Call your Senator right now at (202)224-3121 and tell him to tell Harry Reid not to put the drilling ban back in the continuing resolution.
Section 1602 of the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2008 needs to get tossed.
Oil shale moratorium is back in:
SEC. 1602. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 152 of division A of H.R. 2638 (110th Congress), the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009, the terms and conditions contained in section 433 of division F of Public Law 110161 shall remain in effect for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.

Hi all,
I am in a philosophical mood today (philosophising for those in rio linda)
In keeping with “you don’t make sacrifices as the temple when there is a tiger at the city gates”, Barak Obama wanted to keep making political sacrifices at the Barakopolis Temple while the ecconomic tiger was threatening the gates.
Seriously, Obama wanted to keep performing at Barakopolis while the USA is in real danger.
Um, you’ve not been paying careful attention, Rob. $700 billion per year is being sent out of this country for energy purchase, but only a small percentage is going to the Saudis. The larger percentage of our spending for energy goes to Mexico and Canada.
Is anyone else disappointed in last night’s Presidents address? It may have been enough for folks who answer the pollsters that Democrats are better on Economic issues, but from what I can tell, it lacked essentials for the more fiscally astute.
Thanks for the ping!
Chief BoatSeller and little Chief RunningBare (and a few others who are ti pi-schooling) are in the ti pi!!
I couldn’t bear to watch last night. But Glenn Beck was saying that W gripped the podium very tightly, indicating that he may have been struggling to conceal the full extent of the crisis.
Newt and Dick Morris both spoke of it on Fox over the last two days, so at least it is out there in TV land somewhere.
As serious as this is, I would think that his words were the most carefully chosen of his entire Presidency. A misstatement could have meant disaster.
I thought he kept it simple, informative, and purposefully vague.
You are right! It definitely was not for the fiscally astute.
