Former President Bill Clinton defended Sen. John McCain's request to delay the first presidential debate, saying McCain did it in "good faith" and pushed organizers to reserve time for economy talk during the debate if the Friday plans move forward.
Appearing on Good Morning America Thursday, Clinton told ABC News' Chris Cuomo that McCain's push to postpone the debate would only be a good political move if both candidates agreed. McCain announced on Wednesday that he would "suspend" his presidential campaign to come to Washington to help negotiate a financial bailout bill "We know he didn't do it because he's afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates," Clinton said, adding that he was "encouraged" by the joint statement from McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.

Obama,......”presidents need to “deal with more than one thing at once.”
And the one and only thing that Obama can do while the country is in crisis is what?.....work on his campaign, unless of course someone forces him to really do something. Someone above his pay grade,
I think the Clintonistas are smelling an Obama election loss and are starting their 2012 run now.
I wouldn’t be suprised if there’s a McCain/Palin sign on his lawn in Chauppaqua.
billy sure is doing alot of campaigning for us
i think he sees palin stars in his eyes...lol
“Boy, you'll learn not to screw over the GodFather...”
He couldn’t carry her shotgun shells.
The only question left is, does Bill Clinton’s support of McCain help or hurt McCain? At this point it is difficult to say.
I’m beginning to wonder if Maverick McCain has a position waiting for Hillary.
Note to Barry: With friends like Bubba, who needs enemies, eh?
Could anyone sneak over there an put one on it? The photo would go “viral” on the web.
McCain is getting better spin from the Clintons than from the MSM.
“Obama,......presidents need to deal with more than one thing at once.”
Depends on the problem. This is not the critical part of his speech, he also said “if you need me just call”.
Obama is no different then 90% of the entire senate. None of them know what to do so why go somewhere when you can be of no value.
The sad thing is that Clinton is such a narcissist, if Obama wins he’ll start fishing (both privately and publicly) for some sort of prominent position and honestly not understand why his calls never get returned.
It helps because of those Dems who still love Clinton but cannot vote for Obama. Clinton is indirectly giving marching orders to their supporters that he is not against voting for McCain. He also could tip the balance with independents.
My thoughts exactly.
I actually thought he would try to out her on his ticket at one point.
correction on previous post of mine: change ‘out’ to ‘put’
Okay, that mental picture I could have without,
