John McCain is a Statesman. He is taking a great risk and like he has in the past he has put his country first yet again. I'm proud to support John McCain. He saw the need for reform in 2005 and the Democrats blocked that reform by a partyline vote. Please rate this video and add a positive comment the Koskids are trolling youtube bad mouthing McCain. I'd also recommend we all write to our local media.

Let's pray for our leadership that they will stick to their principles as they did today in opposing the Bailout. The Democrats say they are waiting for Republicans to lead. The only Republican that is leading now is John McCain. George Bush only wants a blank check, well to hell with that NO BLANK CHECK for Paulson!

Demand reparations from Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrats who decided to give cheap mortgages to people who couldn’t afford them.

We should not have to pay for THEIR decision to block reforms of Fannie Mae (which Bush has been asking for since 2001).

With the media's help, I am expecting this to be reported as backfiring big time. Monday morning's Rasmussen poll should have Obama +5 or better.

Until and unless he speaks up about how the Democrats and their government forced affirmative action lending caused this mess, he will have done nothing. TELL THE TRUTH. The truth would simply destroy Obama and the Dems. Just the facts.

I'm betting that McCain made not only the right choice for the country but will work brilliantly for his campaign

Nope this will not backfire. McCain will have the high ground with the people. The media don’t you forget are not held in high regard. This will not backfire if we do our work. And I mean every one talk radio print. Conservatives need to step up and make this happen. Our people in congress stood up to the President today and John McCain is going to Washington and needs our support and guidance so he doesn’t screw this up. John McCain knows this is a risk but he didn’t disappoint us with Sarah Palin and I don’t think he will disappoint us with the Bailout. Have faith and quit being cynical.

I agree.

Mr. McCain can speak on the floor of the Senate if he so chooses, but Obama won’t be anywhere near it. It’s sort of a Solomon thing. The one who loves his country the most will speak up for it, even at the risk of great criticism and possible damage to his campaign.

You know, Mr. McCain as President will be extremely interesting.

McCain is doing the RIGHT thing regardless of how this plays out politically. It’s called ethical leadership. Something we don’t see often in politics.

I have gained a lot of respect for McCain these last few months. I still don’t agree with him on every issue, but I respect him for doing what he believes. Regardless of the personal and political risk for him.

Good job McCain.

McCain would rather lose an election than watch his country lose control of its economy.

Which is exactly the kind of guy I want as Commander in Chief!

No idiot with an ounce of sense would encouraage such a sure to lose policy as these guys did! They should be run out of Washington on a rail, straight to life in prison!
Used to be that treasonous ‘public servants’ would be electrocuted for causing the country such serious harm. Now tareasonous acts are tolerated, and there is no accountability in Washington D.C..

This is really unprecedented. Obama is making (another) mistake rejecting the call to delay the debate.

Americans don't want a debate between candidates right now. They want to see real acts of leadership to help stabilize the country.

John McCain’s Remarks on the Economic Crisis
New York, NY
Wednesday, September 24, 2008

America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen.

Last Friday, I laid out my proposal and I have since discussed my priorities and concerns with the bill the Administration has put forward. Senator Obama has expressed his priorities and concerns. This morning, I met with a group of economic advisers to talk about the proposal on the table and the steps that we should take going forward. I have also spoken with members of Congress to hear their perspective.

It has become clear that no consensus has developed to support the Administration’s proposal. I do not believe that the plan on the table will pass as it currently stands, and we are running out of time.

Tomorrow morning, I will suspend my campaign and return to Washington after speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative. I have spoken to Senator Obama and informed him of my decision and have asked him to join me.

I am calling on the President to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, including Senator Obama and myself. It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem.

We must meet as Americans, not as Democrats or Republicans, and we must meet until this crisis is resolved. I am directing my campaign to work with the Obama campaign and the commission on presidential debates to delay Friday night’s debate until we have taken action to address this crisis.

I am confident that before the markets open on Monday we can achieve consensus on legislation that will stabilize our financial markets, protect taxpayers and homeowners, and earn the confidence of the American people. All we must do to achieve this is temporarily set politics aside, and I am committed to doing so.

Following September 11th, our national leaders came together at a time of crisis. We must show that kind of patriotism now. Americans across our country lament the fact that partisan divisions in Washington have prevented us from addressing our national challenges. Now is our chance to come together to prove that Washington is once again capable of leading this country.

“Let’s pray for our leadership that they will stick to their principles as they did today in opposing the Bailout.”

Just what sort of leadership do you think John McCain is going to provide?

I’m guessing the “McCain-Dodd Act”, providing bipartisan cover for this democrat rape of the taxpayer.

I agree, and believe McCain is doing the right thing. If Obama and the debate organizers insist that the debate remains a go on Friday, I guess McCain will end up going. He could always make a statement that he feels working on the economy for the country to be more important, especially when the debate could be held later.

I really wish McCain would not go, saying the country comes first and as a Senator he needs to be in Washington. Then he could add that he is sending Sarah to stand in for him since they have the same stands on ALL the issues! Obama would have to back out or look like he is afraid to debate Sarah! :)

Seems like Prince Obama is the one who is out of touch.

Not to mention providing cover for his lobbyist campaign staff heavily involved in pushing mortgage and investment banking de-regulation. Now that's what I call "Country First" reform and leadership. Go get 'em Johnny. /s/

Send Sarah Palin to the debate Friday night.

They want to say she's not prepared to step up to President should the need arise.  I believe she would do just fine, especially in an open debate format.

Time for a 'Hail Mary' in this campaign, so let's watch as Sarah mops the floor with BHO!

Anyone in the McCain/Palin camp listening?  :-)

These criminal acts not be allowed allowed to go unpunished. Time will tell, but the minute we hear that it’s all being forgiven WE SHOULD BURN UP THE LINES TO WASHINGTON. These despicable men are criminals that need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law!
