McCain is attempting to make himself look Presidential and “above-the-fray” here, and it just might be effective if Obama refuses to go along. Because his character and experience are areas of considerable doubt for many voters, Obama could suffer by appearing to be more concerned about winning than about America’s financial future. The “moonbats” won’t care, but Independents and values-oriented Midwestern Democrats will.
McCain just won the election by a landslide if Fauxbama doesn’t return to Washington. You’re right the moonbats won’t care, but the 20% of the electorate that are moonbats are going to vote for Fauxbama no matter what.
McCain was already winning independents and moderates, if Fauxbama is out there campaigning while McCain is taking this crisis on, McCain blows Fauxbama OUT OF THE WATER, Goldwater will have a higher vote percentage at the end of the day.
Fauxbama either has to go to washington, or get absolutely pasted.
Lets see his spokespeople and media twist themselves in knots trying to defend him being out on the campaign trail while this is going on and his opponent is putting the nation first.
Hey andy. Check out the Severin show today on WTKK Boston. Jay is having a fantastical time with this. Obamas response is on now.
The Republicans in the senate WILL rally around McCain. McCain will be seen as one of the two major leaders in getting this thing done.
Do you think the Democrats in the senate will be able to put their egos aside and rally around Obama as the “leader” of the Democrats? No. Too many Dems (including Clinton, Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, and even Biden) have been there so long they think they should be in charge. They aren’t going to let some Jr. Senator with less than 4 years experience upstage them.
The final bill will come out of the senate and be known as the McCain/_____ (Clinton, Kennedy, etc...) My guess is “The McCain/Clinton Banking Reform Act of 2008”.
Whatever, it will show that Obama doesn’t even lead his own party. McCain will be perceived as the type of person others turn to in a crisis.
Obama will be perceived as the type of person that disappears in a crisis.
