The crisis on Wall Street has New Yorkers alarmed. But it's nothing compared to the levels of anxiety those living in the Windy City feel each day.
Chicago's rising unemployment rate, expensive gas, high population density and relatively poor air quality create a perfect storm of stress, according to measures we used to calculate the country's anxiety hot spots.

By the time I was there, things had calmed down ALOT since 1984. The Marielitos have been locked up or dead for years, and criminal activity is largely concentrated in the northern/northwestern portions of MD County where you have no business being anyway.
RT 128 going from Peabody to Woburn is an absolute nightmare.
Getting caught on RT 1 near Malden on a Friday night.
How about Sturbridge to Brimfield...oh, that is actually kind of a nice drive! Sorry!
That Zero will win, and that the Dems will sack and burn Wall Street...
“DC where folks walk down lovers lane holding their own hands” - SECDEF Gates to the National Guard convention.
“I found Miami to be surprisingly stressful because of the traffic on the Palmetto and Dolphin.”
C’mon Clemenza. You have go to be kidding. They only get backed up during rush hour and you can easily drive around all of that if you would ask a native! Miami is the best place in the world. Beautiful women, sunshine, an occasional hurricane and did I mention beautiful women everywhere?
Hey, what’s wrong with stress? I perform best under stress. I am more creative. I have more endurance. I have more motivation. Do they think some unstressed guy on a nice island is going to accomplish something?

Although Chicago is a corrupt, ditzy, off-center liberal city, it had some of the most beautiful, friendly women in the world. Michigan Avenue, a windy day and skirts blowing were eye candy for young men. Pizzas ain’t bad, too. And the Maxwell street market was the last vestige of Chicago capitalism where young people could learn about the free market and how to wheel and deal.
Although tough and sometimes unforgiving, the damn liberals ruined a fine city.
Enjoy it before it slides into the Pacific Ocean.
Obama? President? THAT would be stress! But I think we would be very motivated and very creative.
All nanny state governments and leftists running things. Go figure.
I grew up in the Coral Way-SW 27th Ave. area. Lived around Dadeland when I left.
Played a few courses at Doral ( not the Blue Monster ) thru a friend. Summer time us peons were allowed on the property. :)
I don’t think anything beats the Jamaicaway/Riverway/Arborway.....Rt 1 south of the city. 4 skinny winding cow-path lanes...on-coming traffic encroaches into your lane, squeezing you towards the guy next to you. Guy next to you encroaches, squeezing you into on-coming traffic......or the foot-tall curb....or the accident scarreed trees.
.....all at 50mph....sheer madness, but who need coffee after THAT?
On Starrow drive where it has that wierd curve before the Eye and Ear.
If there is a car from out of state in the other lane, they will come right into your lane and push you into the barrier!
