I hate to use MSNBC as a source, but this article says: "The Obama campaign said the Illinois senator had called McCain around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to propose that they issue a joint statement in support of a package to help fix the economy as soon as possible. McCain called back six hours later and agreed to the idea of the statement, the Obama campaign said. McCain's statement about postponing his campaign was issued to the media a few minutes later."

Obama just said that it was McCain who suggested needing to meet in Washington to which Obama wanted to wait until after the joint statement.

McCain acts and Obama talks. I really think this will show America who leads and who is clueless.
Obama blew it. In his little talk right now, he admitted that McCain told him about going back to Washington and suspending the debates. It came as no surprise, although he initially tried to make it seem so. He tried to tell McCain how to handle it and told him to wait until after the joint statement. McCain did what he thought best ...and did not take Obama’s direction.
Go McCain.
I hear ya...I’m sure that this sort of thing benefits Obama much more than McCain.
