Requesting Help on Organizing Rally for McCain/Palin at Liberty State Park in Jersey City NJ

Posted on 09/24/2008 9:13:22 AM PDT by adc

I am writing on behalf of a group of McCain/Palin volunteers who met yesterday in Ramsey, NJ, in order to try to get out out the vote and garner support for the 2008 Campaign. . . the most important Presidential Campaign in recent memory.

We were wondering if any thought has been given to holding a rally at Liberty State Park, in Jersey City, NJ sometime in October? In light of the enormous crowds Sarah Palin has been generating (most recently yesterday in Florida), we thought a perfect venue for a rally would be right on the Hudson at Liberty, opposite the site of the World Trade Center, with that beautiful Statue of Liberty as a backdrop! How awesome would it be for Sarah and John to speak to the people of NJ, in such a fabulous setting? The gap is closing here in NJ for McCain; we need to begin to change New Jersey from blue to red - Hudson County would be the perfect place to begin. Hoboken, Jersey City, West New York, Union City, etc, have long been Democratic bastions, however, with the more recent influx of young professionals in the Hoboken, Jersey City area, now might be a good time to start building a base there. An appearance by Rudy Guliani, or, one of our fabulous NYC talk show hosts, Sean Hannity, would add to an awesome lineup, and serve to generate tremendous interest in the alternative to the Democratic stronghold there. With a Presidential debate scheduled for Hempstead NY on October 15, might it be possible for them to make a stop across the river within that time frame? I can assure you they would be welcomed with great enthusiasm by both NJ and NY voters!

Our small group, as well as many others throughout the state, would love to be able to mobilize one another towards a huge outpouring of support for a true American hero, John McCain, and his running mate Sarah Palin, as they campaign for reform and the conservative ideals of freedom and liberty. Liberty State Park might be just the place to continue their efforts.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts. . .

Have you called the McCain Campaign? They should be helpful.

Great idea, LSP has been the site of several large concerts this summer and has handled the crowds well.

Additionally, the security can be maintained since the Federal site of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are accessible from LSP, and would be easily secured "jumping off points" for the dynamic duo.

Exactly. . . it would be a perfect venue, even for a national stage.

Yes, and we’ll never get over the top unless we start to move on something big here.

I would love to see them here in NJ and would absolutely help in any way BUT... ...as i have said in other posts - the mccain/palin camp should NOT waste their time with NJ (or NY). Our state is lost to the libs forever :(

Hey you, long time, no see... since D.C. in fact.

I’m in (even though we take a death pledge before going in to NJ... unless it’s for a game of course). Kidding.

Let me know, so we can get the golden few in the city to come down.

BTW, we have a USO troop stuff line at Times Square coming up, will post here in a few.

1. Join the official McCain campaign website and get hooked up with campaign leaders and other volunteers and registered supporters in New Jersey.

2. Include the NJ state tag among the four “topics” for all posts related to this effort, so all Freepers who gave NJ as their home state will get pinged with your notices.

Email me in Freeper Email if I can help with anything directly. I cannot currently drive but my computer time is free and I have phone service that is a flat rate for unlimited minutes anywhere in the U.S.

remember, Lazio slaughtered Hildabeast in NY, except for the cities where she won, and the cities have the numbers

shameful, the red state/blue state map shines no more clear than a red county/blue county or city/town in NY does...(sigh)
