Nice. Mason Dixon is the best polling outfit in that region, so this is very positive.
The VA GOP needs to do some ad buy in the state. I know, what a concept!
I respect Mason Dixon but I’m surprised that it’s this close. We have a very substantial black population in VA abd if they turn out like the models I’ve been hearing about predict McCain is going to need every vote he can get here in the Old Dominion. Let’s get Sarah down here a few times!
They must’ve polled more than just the DC suburbs this time.
If this is Mason Dixon this is good. Obama was late to the game addressing the Economic crises and I think it hurt him. Also the recent hubbub about race I think has caused his numbers to shrink a bit in Iowa. Now is the time to attack and attack and attack liberalism.
The Today Show did a whole segment on how Virginia might vote Democrat for the first time....
So what is the consensus? Is Mason-Dixon good or bad? When the FL poll was negative, it was bad. This poll is positive, so it is good?
You can assume anything with NBC attached to it will not be favorable. If it was Mason-Dixon alone, that would be another story.
Stop listening to pundents, national pundents are usually so damned clueless about whats actually going on on the ground in individual states that their “analysis” of individual states is about as useful as a pair of shoes to a person with no legs.
Drudge needs to change his headline and replace that photo of Obama pumping his fist with one of him with a “deer-in-the-headlights” look.
Whatevah to this poll. It’s the same one that has McCain down in Florida?

I think Fairfax Co is not going to deliver the margin for Obama he needs to win the State. I also think that Loudoun Co will return to the GOP from 2006.
They waited 5 days to release their bogus Florida poll, and were embarrassed when RAS had McCain up 51 to 46.
The VA gop has did ad buys. We have been struggling but small donors have been fueling the ad buys for Gilmore. McCain has been advertising heavily but we’ll not had much support for our down ticket candidates. The national party gave up on Virginia Senate seat before the race even started. I’m not giving up. Jim Gilmore came out against the bailout. McCain needs to start attacking Warner, he is helping Obama in this state. If we lose the Senate seat then I think Obama might take Virginia. My county is safe Republican but we have a lot of big spending GOPers who like to prop up their power base with tax payers dollars.
Mason-Dixon is generally very good. Every pollster has an outlier from time to time. This poll feels like it’s probably pretty close. The Florida one just seems out of whack with what other polls are showing.
