CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An off-the-cuff interview with Democratic nominee for Vice President Joe Biden posted on YouTube reveals that Biden apparently doesn't want coal plants in the United States.

The video appears to have been shot in Ohio while Biden was campaigning.

"No coal plants here in America," said Biden to a woman asking questions about clean coal.

Biden says China is building two dirty coal plants every week, which is polluting the U.S. and causing people to die.

"Guess what, China is going to burn 300 years of bad coal unless we can figure out how to clean their coal up, because it's going to ruin your lungs," said Biden. "There's nothing we can do about it."

Representative Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) says Biden's talking about jobs in the Mountain State.

"It was a very unscripted moment as many we find in this YouTube generation, but this is where you're speaking the truth and your true feelings come out," said Capito. "He was very adamant in his opinion that no clean coal, no coal plants here in America. To me that's Americans jobs and West Virginia jobs."

"We know there are issues with coal that need to be addressed, but we also know in order to reach energy independence coal has to be part of this," she said.

Tom Vogel, the Obama campaign spokesperson in West Virginia, said Biden is actually saying he is in favor of clean coal technology despite Biden's words that "we are not supporting clean coal."

"Some people might say they (Obama and Biden) are on two different pages here," Tom Vogel said. "No. If you read into what he is saying- he is talking about clean coal technology and the fact that we do have to make that investment before we proceed,"

You gotta remember that Jim Johnson, the same guy who helped run Fannie Mae into the ground, was involved in the vice-presidential selection process for Obama.

Notice the creepy way bin biden puts his hands all over the girl asking him the question about coal. He’d better not try physically intimidating Sarah in that way.

Honestly, I don’t even know if bituminous (sp?) coal is still allowed
for use in power generation these days.

But if it is, Biden has just delivered Missouri solidly for McCain/Palin.

(at least that’s a reasonable projection after looking at that map)

Tom Vogel: "He's not peeing on your leg, it's, uh, raining, the humidity is very high today ... say, is that a bird up there?"

I wonder how much he hates or loves his job?

UMWA Endorses Barack Obama for President

The United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) endorsed Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for President of the United States after a unanimous vote of the union’s National Council of the Coal Miners’ Political Action Committee (COMPAC) in favor of the endorsement.

"IF THEY ARE GOING TO BUILD THEM, BUILD THEM THERE [CHINA]. NO NEW COAL PLANTS HERE"

I didn't believe the rumor that Biden would be replaced, but this alone could be the pretext for removing him from the ticket. Joe is a gaffe machine that never stops giving.

Part of me wonders if Biden is in the Clinton's back pocket.

But, then I wake up...and know that Biden is an idiot!

I warned that Biden might be replaced, and McCain should be proactive.

Isn’t there a vast supply of clean coal in Utah that cannot be accessed because Clinton made it a national monument?

The map is somewhat misleading. It shows massive uninterrupted deposits covering Iowa and Missouri but I can tell you that is not the case. The coal is extremely lenticular in these areas and can be thin and very deep. When my family mined coal, exploration drilling was extremely important to prove up reserves before submitting a mine permit.

RE: “Part of me wonders if Biden is in the Clinton’s back pocket. But, then I wake up...and know that Biden is an idiot”

Interesting; last night on Letterman Bill Clinton rhapsodized about the greatness of Joe Biden, and commented that he and Hillary had agreed what a fine choice he was for VP candidate. He went on and on about hardships faced over time by Biden (wife’s death, aneurysm, etc.) Clinton talked of his and Hill’s long-term friendship with Biden.

I’ve heard that Biden and McCain are big senate buddies, too, and the two couples have socialized often over time.

Maybe no one but Obama and his criminal pals are really pulling for him to win this thing???

Why not run some ads in Ohio, VA and PA pointing out to the voters Odummy’s position on coal.

RE: “But he said that Obama was so “clean” and “articulate”!”

Yes, but Obama’s wife said on The View that he is “stinky” and we all know now that he is only (occasionally) “articulate” thanks to the teleprompter. So much for THOSE attributes, eh?
