This came down as an "alert" from the AP...the latest whine from the Drive Bys.
Palin, while in New York, is meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday.
The press was told photogs and a camera crew could go in, but no so-called journalists who pretend to be reporters.
Can someone post the crybaby picture?
You're welcome.
It already has some miles on it. :-)
Apparently she had a run in with Greta VanSustern, who called her a "pig" in response to her "white trash" column...
“She needs to show the leftist media that she is the alpha dog.”
You don’t do it by doing a “Monty Python”. (Run away!! Run away!!)
The Fourth Estate is a Fifth Column. Good to see Palin understands this.
Granted! (That's how I got it :)
Diplomacythe art of exercising influence without killing the opposition on the spotdoes involve the use of discretion. For instance, there is a legitimate need to develop personal rapport, since all negotiation is personal. There arises also the opportunity to threaten discreetly, if necessary, but leave no paper trail. And so on.
Being a federated republic necessarily involves delegating various activities to maximize our effectiveness as a nation, and negotiation is surely one of them. There is a cost, to the degree that our representatives may get sucked into feeling they and other leaders are members of a special, wiser, gnostic group. But that's why we have elections. I can't imagine any of the Founding Fathers would have disagreed.
I don’t recall any press or camera crews covering Obama’s meeting with the PM in Iraq.
That’s the first I heard about that. Was that recent?
This is more like, “Stay . . . STAY . . . good boy!”
Yes, yes, and yes!
GREAT post! THANK YOU!
Oops, I missed the link. Thanks, I’ll go take a look.
Mind?
MIND?
Not only do I NOT MIND, but I've been HOPING some conservative politician would do this FINALLY!
The liberal MSM has been needing this for years.
thanks for the link. The article is written by Sara Kugler who according to the link in #56 gave to a Soros 527.
CNN just gave FOX an exclusive.
Sounds nice, though they should let some conservative reporters in, snubbing the rest. That sends a better message than just kicking them all out.
I am a bit jealous of a fellow reporter since she will be covering a Bush fundraiser in my town. I cover education, but they asked for volunteers, and I should have spoken up. I didn’t since it wasn’t my beat, but it sounds like anybody could have done it, so I am kicking myself now. Just kicking myself. I have seen him before, but never in a close setting like this that could have led to actually meeting him.
Right. There is too much pandering to the press and Palin gets a lot of credit in my book for setting limits. Why should she give privileges to those who have shown they do not have objectivity at heart and will do anything they can to destroy her? She is showing that even if they throw the worst at her and her family, she will stand strong and tall and SHE is the one with the power. I love it.
Praying for her safety and her election.
TVNewser has learned all the networks were prepared to ban the use of pictures and video from Gov. Sarah Palin's meetings at the UN today. The ban was in protest of the McCain campaign's restriction on editorial presence....
Within the last few minutes, the campaign reversed course and will allow a CNN producer in to the meetings....
Yes, it is normal, and this is no big deal. But the press is desperate to write anything negative-sounding about her. They know that most casual readers will only come away with the negative, rather than the real story.
The very best example of this was within seconds of her speech at the RNC, the left wing pundits were declaring that she didn't write her speech. Most news junkies like you and me know that NOBODY writes their own speech, but to the casual listener, it sounded like a scandal.
