Sarah Palin is set to upstage George W. Bush in New York Tuesday as the Republican vice-presidential candidate meets world leaders and the singer Bono on the margins of the United Nations World Summit.

Bush will be inside UN headquarters giving his final address as president, but his call for countries to confront U.S.-designated "rogue" states like Iran, North Korea and increasingly Russia risks getting lost amid the attention given to John McCain's running mate.

The Alaska governor didn't even have a U.S. passport until 2007, but the McCain camp hopes Palin's "coming out" on the world stage will boost her foreign policy credentials in the eyes of U.S. voters.

I’m just raising the question. I don’t want to put the kabosh on people’s hopes, but I do think there are some problems that could crop up and I want folks to be aware of the possibility.

I like Palin, and I have every good hope that she will be a good leader of the nation in the future.

A passport wasn’t required to visit Canada (and still technically isn’t). So where else would she go? I mean, when you’ve seen the bright lights and big city of Sandpoint, Idaho, what’s left?

I so wish that Gov Palin will paraphrase President Reagan at the UN. Can you imagine if she addressed them with “the moving trucks arrive in five minutes”.
