After hiatus, McCain vows immigration plan again [amnesty for "God's children"]

Speaking to an Irish-American audience this morning, John McCain used his strongest language of the general election campaign to grab again the mantle of comprehensive immigration reform.

In Scranton, Pa., he vowed to push through a plan that offers a path to citizenship to illegal immigrants who pay fines and fulfill other requirements. "This nation is stronger for the infusion of fresh blood and vitality," McCain said.

“I have a feeling McCain is using Palin. After the election, she will be marginalized and relegated to typical VP duties: state funerals and inquiring about the health of the president.”

Absolutely. McCain is an idiot and his supporters are fools. you can quote me on that.

Where are the Irishmen in that list?

And this schmo talks about "infusion of fresh blood and vitality," McCain said."

That's the point. There is not fresh blood anymore. It's all the same - filled with chili sauce.

Look again, there is a lot of blood on that list. Irish, not so much

I would never in a million years vote for McCain. I’m voting down ballot only. I guess the only things we have to look forward to are some “I told you sos” to those supporting McCain here when he drives the country into the ground and takes the Republican party with him.

Maybe Senator McCain just got his words mixed up and meant to mention the shedding of fresh blood contributed by illegal immigration.

“Sarah Palin would clearly object to this “

Really? Have you heard her object to giving illegal aliens an amnesty path (earned or otherwise) to citizenship. I haven’t heard her take a stand one way or the other.

What do you mean “if” McCain tries to push this amnesty b.s. He IS pushing it. And, he’s doing so with Sarah on board. I don’t see what difference anyone thinks she’s going to make. I’ve yet to hear her oppose any kind of amnesty in favor of attrition through enforcement.

“”This nation is stronger for the infusion of fresh blood and vitality,” McCain said.”

Mr. McCain, you’ve seen fit to ignore the ‘fresh blood’ of too many US citizens over this social experiment. It’s a failure.

Any to my Irish illegal brethren....get your butts HOME! There is NO excuse for the thousands of you here illegally.

It is the best we have (a rino and a Conservative) and we are now conversing in circles. Do what you will... but it is my hope that you put America before your feelings of betrayal and personal slight.

BTW... “real conservative” is not something that you or Duncan get to define. Palin’s governance defines her Conservative credentials as much as Duncan's do. I would be delighted if Fred (I gave $2300.00 to Fred) or Duncan were in McCain's place... but they are not... and we go to war with the army that we have.

I have to go eat dinner with the family and as I said, we are starting to go in circles.

“So typical. Go to an audience of citizens and promise a path to citizenship. “

The last I heard there were over 30,000 illegal Irishmen in this country and they were demanding their ‘rights’. Usually it’s Ted Kennedy speaking on their behalf. Maybe McCain did this as a favor to his ‘friend’.

He’s on a panderfest for sure. Maybe that’s what it takes. I’ll never learn to like it.

“He said that voters would not support such a plan until the borders were made secure.”

Until? UNTIL? No....how about NOT AT ALL!!!!

That’s such b.s. and he damn well knows it. He’s playing games and it ticks me off royally. S2611 was defeated BECAUSE of border security AND the amnesty issue. Even if, as he claims, he does plan to effectively secure our borders (he will not), voters will NOT support any kind of amnesty, earned or otherwise, for illegal aliens.

Well stated, Mom. Sometimes reality sucks, but that’s the way it is.

They have no rights if they are here illegally. Let them enter our country legally, PERIOD!

Where did that map originate?

I got the img from milleniumark.com, but it was used rather widely back in the 06 amnesty battle...

The estimates look really low.

I think they are too. I think it was based on the 12m numbers they were using in 06, which are pretty well discredited. I tend to favor 20m for the lowest figure... But even so,I think the visual is important, as it clearly demonstrates that the Republican "Southern Strategy" will become a thing of the past- Conservative strongholds like Texas and Georgia will be overwhelmed, and leaners like Florida and Colorado will be forever lost.

Can Republicans win WITHOUT Texas and Florida, not to mention the others that would become lost or questionable? Why, then, are Republicans pushing so hard for this amnesty, which is certain to cause their party to forever be removed from power? Why are Republicans guaranteeing socialism for our children?

If you can give me a truthful and logical reason for this path the Republican leadership is on, it might just cause me to support the Republican ticket, though I doubt either of those two things will happen.

“If he won’t even appoint conservatives to his Cabinet, what makes you think he will nominate conservatives to the SCOTUS?”

Sarah Palin, that’s what ;) LOL

I read that he picked her just so she can whip him into shape.

I cannot support any politician unless they swear under oath, in public, they will upon being elected to the presidency, will immediately secure and protect our borders and our dying sovereignty.

As mentioned earlier, I've been dog bit, lied to and kicked in the teeth, multiple times by these politicians...I refuse to get bit again. Even with them swearing under oath, publicly, I don't know for sure if I could trust them.

This is what happens when one is severely bit again and again.

Have a good dinner.

That was never an argument in McCain’s favor because I’m not convinced he’ll appoint people like Thomas and Scalia either.
Like many things with McCain, it’s a gamble. Do you play poker or like to gamble? Some things he’s consistent about and I think we can count on. With Obama, there’s no odds in our favor at all on any issue.

The primary is over. No one knows who the 3rd party candidates are. They can only be a nuisance at this point.

Reality stinks, but there it is.

Neither candidate will do that, so they're even on this topic. There are plenty of other reasons NOT to vote for Obama, so we have to go with the best option we have and hope we can deal with this issue in Congress when the time comes.

With regard to amnesty..McCain will certainly claim we knew what he stood for and still voted for him. Won't work. We knew what he stood for BUT put him on notice not to try it again.

I hope he gets the message.
