Last week, CNBC Washington correspondent John Harwood estimated the crisis on Wall Street would benefit Sen. Barack Obamas bid for the White House but on September 22, he suggested Obamas race might outweigh that.

Obama told Harwood his appearance and his name might factor in voters determination of whether or not he can help people achieve the American dream.
