Dueling Narratives of America
American Spectator ^ | 22 sept 08 | William Tucker

Barack Obama's nomination is a historical event, a watershed in the long saga of America's racial agony. We seem to have been waiting 150 years for this moment. So why isn't he sweeping all before him?

The place of blacks in American society, of course, is a narrative extending far back to Colonial days. The Civil War was fought over it. Revisionist historians occasionally try to point to economics factors or the inherent antagonisms between an agrarian and industrial society, but any memoir of the era will tell you that the war was fought over slavery. After the freeing of the slaves, America became a caste society, with "Negroes" confined to a distinctly limited role -- and suffering threats and violence if they tried to step out of line.

"So why isn't he sweeping all before him?"

Because what happens to black people is caused mainly by black people.

Tell them you won’t vote for him because HE’S A COMMUNIST.

That shuts them up every time.

I think Michael Steele would make a much better POTUS (than McCain, too).

In Kenya, Obama lived in a huge mansion and they had servants. He has had a life unlike any black in society that I know.

This is Madison at the Constitutional Convention while talking about the job of the Senate.

"An increase in population will of necessity increase the proportion of those who labor under all the hardships of life, and secretly sigh for a more equal distribution of its blessings. These may in time outnumber those who are placed above the feeling of indigence. According to the equal laws of suffrage, the power will slide into the hands of the former.

As soon, then, as the poor could out vote the rich, they would make plans for a more equal distribution of wealth. And the Senate, to make sure it would vote down these "symptoms of a levelling spirit" must be a highly respectable body.

A long term for Senators would help, Madison concluded, - help to protect the rich against the "injustice" of popular laws, of the sort we all know too sadly from "our own experience".

55 Men The Story of the Constitution based of the day by day notes of James Madison by Fred Rodell, 1st Published in 1907.

With Congress at 9%, we have little distance to go to destroy the "Dreams of our Forefathers".

You took the words right off my key-board;)

Michael Steele - the epitome of American optimism and grace. He scares the Dems in Maryland - to the point where his I.D. was hacked - worse than Sarah’s email.

Head & shoulders above Bawreck 0bama in every computation.

Let's see: Dodd, Kennedy, Schumer, Clinton, Boxer, Murray et al: those days of the Senate being a highly repsectable body are long gone.

Because it is not COLOR it's ideology! It's not looks, it's experience! The man was convinced by the demonrat machine and convinced himself that he is ready and he is not. He is not the best of the best. Demonrats who pull the strings want it this way, they do not want a man with a vision, a man with intelligence, a man with honor and integrity, they want an empty suit, a puppet.

So why isn't he sweeping all before him?

It is comments like THIS that make NORMAL Americans avoid voting for him:

"...In my view, proof of government complicity is not necessary when making the argument that the U.S. should accept some responsibility for what happened on 9/11..."

It is his propensity for hanging around with people who pose proudly for pictures like THIS that make Americans decide not to vote for him:

It is his association with someone who had nothing but praise for brutal murderers who stuck a fork in a viciously murdered pregnant woman.

He supports infanticide.

His wife hates America

He sat in an America-hating, racist “church” for 20 years, brought his children there every week and gave money to it.

Bought a $1.2MM house in Chicago thanks to Tony Rezko

Thinks Clarence Thomas is not qualified to sit on SCOTUS

Has never held a management position in his life

Voted “Present” 130 times while in the IL state legislature

Bottom line is: This race-baiting, socialist, Marxist POS has been hand-picked the the lunatic liberal left of the Democratic party to be their nominee, and they (and he) are so far to the left of NORMAL Americans that Barack Hussein Obama could just as well be from another planet to them.

When the lunatic left, and the Black community as a whole stops praising and elevating people like Barack Hussein Obama, Rev. Wright, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and their ilk, and begins to support people like Thomas Sowell, Bill Cosby, Clarence Thomas and Condoleeza Rice, they can then be truly free. Until then, they are their own enemy.

THE REJECTION OF BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH HIS RACE. IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH WHO HE IS, WHAT HE BELIEVES, WHO HE ASSOCIATES WITH, AND WHAT HE HAS (OR FOR THE MOST PART, HAS NOT!) DONE.
