So we should just acquiesce and say we are in a recession because the liberal media says we are, not based on any objective fact? There is such a thing as truth, and it would be nice if politicians would treat the truth and facts as something important, not something to be ignored based on “feelings” and liberal spin.
That we are not in a recession is a FACT, and a demonstrable one. If he were to stick his ground, people might realize that and it would help him, no matter what lies Obama says.
Not sure what you are reading into my post.
John McCain didn't admit to a recession. He recognized that peple are hurting.
His response was pretty good. It would have been better without the word “sure”.
“But you also heard McCain say if he is elected he will move the political office out of the WH and to the RNC.”
Of everything McCain said, I like that best. I’m tired of the unelected likes of Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, Paul Begala and Que Ball making White House policy.
Yeah, surprising like going to bed with a hot supermodel and she takes a dump on your head. Did McCain know Spawn of Mario played a substantial role in creating the mortgage crisis that he wanted to put in charge of fixing ?
"I did like the idea about getting the political office out of the White House. He says hell put them in the GOP office. Great idea."
Actually, it's incredibly bad. This says he's telling the GOP "you're on your own, I'm not going to help you one iota. I don't care if you ever win back the majority or shrink to the size of a phone booth." We need a President who will be aggressive in getting us BACK the majority. Even if McCain gets elected, he's going to face an even larger incompetent moonbat rodent Congress. Wiping his hands of his responsibilities as the REPUBLICAN President to lead his party back to the majority is non-leadership.
I think I’ll hibernate until this election is over. :<(
I agree.
I also agree with yours in re John McCain, and walking that fine line.
Great post. You’re right.
Unfortunately it’s not a “fact” to families that are hurting out there. It would just create another impression that McCain is out of touch.
Sorry but that’s just not true. McCain made a pitch for taking back congressional seats during his RNC address. He accosted the democrat congress time and again.
How do we know when he is talking to “us?”
That contradicts what he said on 60 Minutes. I was VERY unnerved by his comments, the wiping his hands of party leadership and the Andrew Cuomo suggestion to replace Cox (WTF ?!). If he decides to model his Presidency on the leadership of Slick Willard, this party is f**cked. Very poor show.
Why are you overreacting to this? He’s not picking Cuomo and we both know it. Hell, at least I know it. It’s idle centrist talk.
Think about what you are doing. You are flipping out over the chairmanship of the SEC. It’s peanuts.
Besides you got bigger fish to fry. Romney has already indicated he wants no active part of the McCain administration. He is already preparing for 2012. Worry about that.
Palin has energized conservatives. However, conservatives alone are not enough to win the election. Rasmussen polls reveal that Dems have a +5.5% advantage over Republicans on a national level. By sounding bi-partisan and centric, Mac is trying to appeal to disgruntled Hillary voters who don’t like Obama and Palin.
Exactly. McCain is a total known entity. No one should be shocked by this. That said, he is NOT picking Cuomo. I’ll start a betting pool if anyone wants.
Andrew Cuomo is one of the main people responsible for the meltdown of Fannie and Freddie, McCain would put the fox in charge of the hen house. Even if he's bluffing, it shows horrible judgement on his part.
McCain played the Maverick tonight. He bashed both Bush and the Democrat-led Congress (yes, he specifically pointed out that Congress has been led by the Dems for two years, and he had a good-natured laugh about it). He also said taxes should not be raised AND Federal spending needs to be slashed, so he threw in some red meat for us Conservatives. But of course, he mentioned Cuomo as a potential SEC chairman, so he was definitely chasing the middle-of-the-road and hillary voters in this interview.
But, as you imply, the majority of people who tune into 60 minutes have a certain (dare I say, liberal) mindset, and 60 minutes definitely played to this pro-obama audience. The only point of contention was when Kroft confronted obama for his lack of experience in running anything at all and questioned obama’s readiness to be president. I didn’t listen for obama’s answer because I just can’t stand listening to him.
All in all, I’d say this 60 minutes episode went to obama, but I doubt it will affect the polls any.
That's because McCain has no intention of running for re-election at age 76???
