But remember, McCain, obama, and the 60 minutes crew are not economists. They don’t know the definition of recession and don’t care.

Neither do the majority of the people who tune into 60 Minutes. From what I've read here, McCain's answer was fine. It acknowledged voter's concern about the economy and that is what he needed to do.

I did not see 60 minutes. How did McCain do from a political standpoint? Better or worse than Obama? Did anyone win over any uncommitted voters tonight?

McCain played the Maverick tonight. He bashed both Bush and the Democrat-led Congress (yes, he specifically pointed out that Congress has been led by the Dems for two years, and he had a good-natured laugh about it). He also said taxes should not be raised AND Federal spending needs to be slashed, so he threw in some red meat for us Conservatives. But of course, he mentioned Cuomo as a potential SEC chairman, so he was definitely chasing the middle-of-the-road and hillary voters in this interview.

But, as you imply, the majority of people who tune into 60 minutes have a certain (dare I say, liberal) mindset, and 60 minutes definitely played to this pro-obama audience. The only point of contention was when Kroft confronted obama for his lack of experience in running anything at all and questioned obama’s readiness to be president. I didn’t listen for obama’s answer because I just can’t stand listening to him.

All in all, I’d say this 60 minutes episode went to obama, but I doubt it will affect the polls any.
