CAIR Executive Director: 'We Should Not Blame the United States Alone for the 9/11 Attacks'

At the Investigative Project on Terrorism: CAIR Exec’s Telling Interview.

In a recent interview with the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islam Online website, and reported by the BBC Middle East Monitoring Service, the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR), Executive Director Nihad Awad reflected on “interfaith dialogue,” the Bush administration, the upcoming presidential election, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Asked about the prospect of a new U.S. president, and whether American Muslims regret support for George W. Bush in 2000, Awad’s answer offers a disturbing window into his soul.

“We should not blame the Muslims for taking part in the political process, and we should not blame the United States alone for the 11 September 2001 attacks, but we should also blame the perpetrators.” (Emphasis added)

How noble.

You’re more than welcome to return home, Nihad.

Be sure it’s a one way trip.

What IS remarkable in this statement is that they take ANY responsibility at all. To be honest, I’m shocked.

Awad attracted criticism when he allegedly wrote in the IAP's Muslim World Monitor that the 1993 World Trade Center bombing trial was "a travesty of justice," and suggested that "there is ample evidence indicating that both the Mossad and the Egyptian Intelligence played a role in the explosion.'" [7] However, during a 2002 interview with an Australian news radio reporter, Awad denied those reports, calling them a "total fabrication" and saying he had been misquoted. A hard copy of the relevant edition of the Muslim World Monitor shows that Awad never wrote or made those remarks.[3].[4]

I don't believe anyone associated with CAIR.

Saying that the U.S. alone should not be blamed for 09/11, is another way of saying the U.S. should be blamed in part for 09/11. Any person who makes that statement is mentally challenged.

You don’t focus on a civilian target no matter what the supposed outrage is a peacetime setting.

This C.A.I.R. guy is unfit to lead an organization in the United States. He agrees that the U.S. actually deserved 09/11, at least in part.

Time to repatriate. If he was born here, then let him choose the nation he wants to go to, and jeteson him anyway, then revoke his citizenship.

Otherwise consider bringing him up on some serious charges related to siding with the terrorists who perpectrated 09/11. If he side with them, he’ll side with the next team.

The bank wasn't solely responsible for the heist.

The rape victim wasn't solely responsible for the sexual assault.

The owner of the car wasn't solely responsible for the car jacking.

The victim of the knife attack wasn't solely responsible for his own exsanguination.

This would be wonderful, but I'm sure that you know it is not possible to deport a natural born citizen, The Man Without a Country notwithstanding.

There should be something that he could be charged with. How could he ever be trusted not to participate in such activity, if he thinks the past activity was justified. He is a terrorist sympathizer by definition. Aren’t his comments evidence of sedition, or something very close to it or perhaps a similar charge.
