It is almost playoff and World Series time again in Major League Baseball.
Here are the CURRENT STANDINGS and how things are shaping up for the playoffs.
It is not a happy time for the New York Yankees, whose chance of even making the playoffs this year is very, very slim. There is a reason the Yankees have not won the World Series since 2000. It is called THE HILLARY CURSE.
A few years ago, the Boston Red Sox finally broke the CURSE OF THE BAMBINO. The Chicago Cubs are still burdened by the CURSE OF THE BILLY GOAT. We will see how long THE HILLARY CURSE lasts.

Tigers have been all over the place. At least there’s still a chance for Ordonez to pull off a batting title.
Aren’t you forgetting the Phillies?

No, no, no!!! This is the “curse of the Babe” for the idiots in NY tearing down his house.

Red Sox to retire Pesky’s number...?
According to a team source, meetings were held last night and again this morning to address how and when a players number should be retired. The team plans to hold a press conference today or tomorrow to announce the change in policy, with all signs pointing to the dramatic news that Peskys uniform No. 6 will be retired before the end of the regular season.
The timing is perfect: Given that Peskys 89th birthday is Saturday, its likely the ceremony will take place before the Sox nationally televised game against the New York Yankees.
