On last nights Saturday Night Live, there was an eight minute clip that focused on the NY Times coverage of Sarah Palin.
The skit addressed a fictional meeting where the Peter Conolly Assignment Editor of the NY Times explains his plans to send 50 reporters to Alaska, to dig dirt on the Palins.
The media may try to play this off as SNL bringing up the topic of incest in the Palin household. The real story is that SNL framed the NY Times and it's staff for precisely what kind of tactics they have used against the Palins so far. The management and the reporters for the times were skewered here, and it was amazingly over the top.
Folks, this was a great skit. You'll have to see it to believe it, and I have posted the 8:04 minute clip on YouTube for you to see.
Enjoy.
I started to read the other thread, but it got tiresome. I think SNL could have found a more tasteful way to make fun of the leftist media but then again, I don’t remember SNL specializing in tastefulness. You know the MSM is going too far when intelligent leftists notice the bias enough to make fun of it.
Wow....I am speechless here. They made fun of the elitists who look down on anyone who fits their stereotypes and the behavior of the left wing icon. The ironic thing was that the reporters have never been anywhere and yet seem to think that they know something about others. When confronted with truth they still want to argue or minimize the person telling them the truth.
The skit was way out of your reach.
Did you watch the skit?
Yup. Gotta wonder if NBC made YouTube took down all the videos with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin. If not, then NBC is selectively censoring those skits that make the media and liberals look bad.
Plan B: Search your torrent client foe a copy.
Didn’t see last night’s skit; wish I had.
One of the rating services uses a set-top box that does a minute-by-minute analysis of what people are watching.
I wonder if Disney/ABC saw something interesting happen last week with the Palin/Clinton sketch, like a spike followed by a very serious dropoff when that stupid gameshow skit that attacked homeschoolers came on.
“You know the MSM is going too far when intelligent leftists notice the bias enough to make fun of it.”
You said that just right.
Shoot. Video pulled. What is NBC afraid of by allowing this on youtube? Do they think they’ll lose money somehow???
I have been intentionally avoiding many shows because I expect them to be unfair to Palin.
SNL portrayl of NYT dead on, 100% nail on the head.
SNL broadcast actual clip/fake? of NYT secret reporter meeting, tying Palin to incest, sexist organizations
Stay classy NBC. At least they are accurate about the New York Times.
Reporters
1. Don’t know how to drive stick
2. Worried about access to local psychoanalyst
3. No one with an American name
4. Worried about access to transgender bathrooms
5. Gets Snow machine confused with a crucifix
6. Put Palin rumor mongering above report on Lehman brothers
7. Think shotgun is a assault weapon
8. Investigate Palin’s childhood membership in 4H
9. Receive Pulitzer prize for unprovin rumors of Palin incest

Thanks for posting the link.
There’s no doubt this was a broadside attack on the reporters and their NYC lifestyle
Whoever posted it needs to wrap it in commentary and re-post it.
This is not a slam at you in any way, so take it as an explanation and not a biting response.
This skit did not accuse the Palins of anything. It accused the NY Times staff of doing a story on a vile topic even though there wasn’t a hint of a reason to think this vile thing had happened. And it then stated that the reporter who looking into the topic, could not find any evidence of it happening. And then the reporter got a Pulitzer for it anyway.
What this was, was an example of what they press have been doing to Palin all along. It was brilliant.
You really do need to consider for a moment that when the media does out the press for what it is, that we need to be receptive. We can’t sit here and slam them for doing things we don’t like, then slamming them again when they do something we should like.
I’m not in the bag for SNL. This was a very good skit, that told it like it really is, and we should be appreciative for that every bit as much as we are angered when they do screw up, which granted is most of the time.
That video has gotten 207 hits already. A lot of people are going to see the NY Times and the rest of the media a little differently after seeing this skit. And if the NYT and other papers get some cancellations, so much the better.
Awwww, All I got was this message: This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by NBC Universal
I saw that skit earlier this morning before they pulled it off but I have to agree with you, this was more a slam on the MSM than the Palins. Just goes to show that some of us here in Freeperland need to have more of a sense of humor and not be so kneejerk about things.
As I started to watch the skit, I was upset initially, but quickly I realized that this was a hit job on the NYT and then I started to enjoy it. What the NYT truly needs is more cowbell and less bullshit. The NYT lives in a world of ivory towers and plastic flowers.
I especially like the end where the reporter won a Pulitzer for not proving anything.
BTW, Youtube just removed it due to copyright infringement. I’m glad I caught it before that happened.
