Church of England apologises to Darwin

Anglican Church’s neo-Chamberlainite appeasement of secularism

20 September 2008

...it’s notable that many evolutionized clergy not only have appeased secularism but also appeased radical Islam: the leading cleric in the CoE, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, stated earlier this year that adoption of sharia law in the UK seems unavoidable.

Because at the time of Christ, the “kingdoms of the earth” included Rome, and the Chinese. The rest of humanity at that time was little more than barbaric, nomadic groups.

Isaiah 40:22 (King James Version)

22It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

In that verse, the word translated “circle” is the Hebrew “khoog”, which can also be translated as “roundness,” “circle,” “circuit,” or “compass” (ref: Strongs Dictionary, 2329). The roundness of the earth is a viewpoint from space that no mere man had in 760 BC when those words were written. (Although, it might easily be suspected that the earth is round, by looking at the sun and moon). Furthermore, from about the year 1500 BC, it says in Job 26:10, “He marks out a circle (or roundness) on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.” Indeed, a circle would be the correct shape which describes any line between darkness and day-light along the surface of the oceans.

Inerrantist?? Certainly, FRiend. The Bible is NOT wrong; merely many our interpretations of it are. For we that Believe, all things will one day be revealed in Glory.

Oh, for the record, I’ve never bought the “6 days of creation” thingy either. Who knows, but for God one day could be 100 million of our years. One of the questions I plan to ask someday.....

Not to nitpick, but you are leaving out the Parthian (Persian) kingdom and the Hindu civilization in India.

OK, true. And there are a few others.

However, the most widely dispersed geographically were the two I mentioned.

Thanks, FRiend.

‘The Bible is NOT wrong; merely many our interpretations of it are.’

Of course, that was my point in saying that all along.

Is that it? Are you kidding me? On my link is a dozen or more eras of the earth, defined by hundred/thousands of scientists over hundreds of years. Where is your classification? Instead, you sent me a link on evolution...I said straight out I haven’t any significant knowledge of evolution. You have proved my point EXACTLY. A simple response off topic. You folks are obsessed with evolution. There are hundreds of branches of science that show a preponderance of evidence the earth is millions of years old.

Actually, the link I sent you demonstrates that the so-called ancient polar ice cores aren’t ancient after all. Did you bother to read it? But by all means, pick any SPECIFIC argument that the earth is millions of years old, and let’s spend some time weighing the evidence on both sides.

It would certainly appear that way. What they need is a revival along the same lines as the Second Great Awakening, which, coincidentally, played a huge role in preventing the atheist/proto-communist French Revolution from crossing the channel into England.

I have no beef with what the author proposes here...he doesn't seem to be of the belief the earth is 6,500 years old....some quotes... “During the last 18,000 years, the warming was particularly appreciable during the Middle Holocene... And he makes reference to the Pleistocene era as a scientifically verified theory as by his quote at the end... "Sean Pitman www.DetectingDesign.com Additional comment: Current concepts of late Pleistocene sea level history, generally referred to the 14C time scale, differ considerably1. Some authors2,3 assume that the sea level at about 30,000 BP was comparable with that of the present and others4,5 assume a considerably lower sea level at that time. We have now obtained 14C dates from in situ roots and peat which indicate that the sea level was lowered eustaticly to at least 40−60 m below the present level between 36,000 and 10,000 BP. The sea level rose from -13 m to about +5 m from 8,000 to 4,000 BP and then approached its present level. [emphasis added] M. A. GEYH*, H. STREIF* & H.-R. KUDRASS, Sea-level changes during the late Pleistocene and Holocene in the Strait of Malacca, Nature 278, 441 - 443 (29 March 1979); doi:10.1038/278441a0 ( Link )" Interesting site ..will look through the other links.

Evolution is not a fact. It is a lie. The Bible says that God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day. Those days were literal days. That is why we have a seven-day week. That is why God instituted the Sabbath. If the six days of creation lasted millions of years, how long did God rest? One million years?

God said, “Work six days, but the seventh day is the Sabbath.” He didn’t say, “Work six million years, but the Sabbath is the seventh million-year period.”
