AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, Doctor of Democracy, and Chief of the Patriotism Police. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).
IT'S OPEN LINE FRIDAY
What’s this I keep hearing about McCain saying he helped invent the blackberry? Can anyone educate me on this one?
I didn't know this. Phil Gramm was in on it??? That's really disappointing. Thanks for providing the info, Roccus.
Heavily lobbied by Treas. Secy. Rubin and Sanford Weill of Citicorp so that the merger would not meet congressional dis-approval. Rubin quit soon after passage and went to Citicorp.
That's disgusting.
Have the FR servers been put on dialup?
A couple of the younger ones USED to be well-adjusted and gracious, but as with the other ones I know, their clear-thinking was destined to be just a phase of fleet. There are a gazillion loony limosine libs on the North Shore who are the epitomical models of the "DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO." The Pritzker family, although hugely philanthopic, are alphas of both altruism and asininity. And they all fight on a level of Michael Vick's Finest over money in the most down-out-and-dirty fashions.
And now the Prizker "ladies who lunch" are spicing it up and thinking themselves cool and inclusive and open-minded by "dining with 'Dinejad."
Oh, Penny "Pritz," aren't you progressive!
The family is stranger than fiction.

On the Outside Now, Watching Fannie Falter
Washington Post, The (DC) - July 16, 2008
Author: Anita Huslin, Washington Post Staff Writer
In the four years since he stepped down as Fannie Mae’s chief executive under the shadow of a $6.3 billion accounting scandal, Franklin D. Raines has been quietly constructing a new life for himself. He has shaved eight points off his golf handicap, taken a corner office in Steve Case’s D.C. conglomeration of finance, entertainment and health-care companies and more recently, taken calls from Barack Obama ‘s presidential campaign seeking his advice on mortgage and housing policy matters.
(snip)
Another excellent source comes to us from that bastion of conservatism....the Village Voice. Lots of info here
Well, in the interest of a full analysis of the polls, we also have to add in the "Daley Effect" (Also known as the "Rendell Effect" and the "Dinkins Effect") whereby the vast denizens of the graveyards in large, Liberal controlled cities cast an overwhelming vote for the Liberal Candidate. So, Obamunist is probably still safe in NY, CA, IL.
I heard about that, I think there was a thread, but it didn’t make any sense. It died quickly.
Thanks, Roccus. I need to quit my job so I have time to read all of this great stuff.
Dial up or a time out!
Hi, sweet cheeks!
Hey, where have you been???
Still safe, yes. But he should have it by a landslide, and he doesn’t.
this sounds encouraging
Major shareholders are pursuing an effort to try to help pay off the federal government’s loan to American International Group Inc. in time to avoid having Washington take an 80% stake in the company, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Hurdles to these shareholders’ efforts could be high, as they and other investors they may attract would have to put up significant sums. This week, the government agreed to lend AIG up to $85 billion to help it avoid possible bankruptcy, in exchange for a right to take a controlling stake in the giant insurance conglomerate.
Hey Honey Bun, how the heck are ya!!
I’m not gonna be here long today....and prolly not at all next week. Gotta go back to NY. Family stuff. I thought I had “loaned” my relatives (my sisters kids) enough so that I’d never have to hear from them again, but it seems they think that the statute of limitations applies to them. I gotta play hardball and do some attitude adjustin’.
On the bright side, I’ll get to spend time with a very special widder lady I know up there. }:^O
Hi MLF!!! I was in a while ago, you were MIA!!! Did you change the password again??
I got quite a kick out of our suburban Chicago liberal elite cousin who sent me an angry rant about McCain yesterday, ending with the words "Just some information we should know in order to make an informed decision on November 11th."[emphasis mine]
I'll be sure NOT to tell her when the election really is!
You have been missed! < spanking smiley >
