*snip*
Couric is slated to spend two days on the road with the Republican vice presidential candidate and presidential hopeful John McCain. The material she gathers will be aired Sept. 29 and 30 on the "CBS Evening News" and "The Early Show" - just before the Oct. 2 vice presidential debate between Palin and Democrat Joe Biden.
ABC's Charlie Gibson had the first in-depth network interview with Palin last week, but his handling of the interview has angered some critics who claim he led Palin into a series of "gotcha" questions.

Perky Katie’s “interview” with Obama is along the lines of, “Master, when I service you may I wear knee pads?”
If Katie even brings up Gov. Palins children, Sarah should just sit there and look at her without answering. The Palin’s children are not up for discussion.
Hopefully, Governor Palin has learned that Obamanoids like Gibson and Couric are her enemies. They hate her and are only out to destroy her. That’s what they get paid for. I don’t see any upside to this.
Any questions about the Palin kids are softballs, and Governor Palin should hit them out fo the park.
This is a bad idea.
If she knows what’s good for her ratings, Quatie Quaraq should stay clear away from the petulant, look-down-at-you-over-my-glasses, attitude with Sarah. Hit the hard questions, but lob some softballs, too.
McCain’s people better have a parallel camera running at all times the CBS camera is running. Get an independent transcript too.
This will cheer me up if Katie has to bunk in the cargo compartment.
It seems to me that it expands the range of questions she can be asked at one shot. She can handle it, but why unnecessarily increase the degree of difficulty on these things?
I can see no upside to this.
Remember how Bush relegated the Wicked witch of the West to the back row at press conferences?
Interviewee prerogative.
Whatever are they thinking?
Perkie has dozens of lackeys digging up dirt, checking "facts" and formulating "gotcha" questions, and Palin will be bushwacked into an endless series of traps.
Classic lose-lose situation.
Is that Reverend Wright? Check the resemblance...
I’m naive, but still don’t believe Katie Couric can stand up to Sarah Palin.
It’s likening a chihauhau up against a ... yes, she said it... a pit bull.
Relax folks. This is the perfect format for Palin. This is going to be like a one hour commercial for the RNC. Palin interacting with people on the campaign trail is what she excels at. Much better than the stuffy interview in the dim room format.
This is going to be good.
Or like you suggest, have their own camera crew there.
I think Rielle Hunter may be available
Heck, I would volunteer.
We should start running posts that show any interviews Coric has had with the O so all can be prepared to judge her in the moment.
Katie thinks this will bring her back to the main stream by getting viewers. Sarah better watch out for her claws, because they will appear. Katie has all her hollywood elitist friends who have sent in the questions via moveon.org.
